본 연구는 교육 생애사를 통해 ‘훌륭한 스승’의 의미와 교육맥락을 파악하는 것이 목적이다. 연구의 대상자는 50대의 원불교 여성 성직자 1인이다. 연구는 다음의 세 단계로 수행되었다. 첫째, 생애사 면담은 2회의 일대일 대면, 1회의 전화인터뷰로 총 3회 수행되었다. 면담의 내용은 녹음되어 전사하였다. 둘째, 면담내용은 핵심용어 도출과 수정 및 의미 분석의 질적 연구방법론을 활용하였다. 셋째, 연구과정에서 발견한 연구자의 ‘학습경험’과 연구요소들과의 상호작용을 분석하였다. 연구결과 연구 요소간 관계는 1단계 ‘연구자와 연구주제 및 연구대상의 분리’, 2단계 ‘연구자와 연구주제 및 대상의 상호작용의 발생’, 3단계 ‘연구와 연구자의 결합’이다. 훌륭한 스승의 생애사적 요소는 ‘소명의식’, ‘처처불상 사사불공’, ‘반성과 자기계발’, ‘인과의 믿음’이다. 마지막으로 연구자에게 ‘훌륭한 스승’의 생애사적 체험에 관한 연구는 학습의 장이 될 수 있음을 고찰하였다. This study aims to understand the meaning and educational contexts of a ‘great teacher’ through his or her Education Life History. The subject of this study is one female Won-buddhism minister in her mid fifties. The study was conducted in three steps: First, the researcher conducted face-to-face interview three times. Qualitative analysis of interview contents were carried as to derive the keywords and pedagogical significance. Interactions between research elements and the ‘learning experience of the researcher in the process of study were analyzed. The relationships between research components are “the separation of researcher, research topics and subjects”, “the occurrence of interactions between researcher, research topics and subjects”, “the combination of research and researcher”. The components of a great teacher life history are “Calling consciousness”, “Chuchubulsangsasabulgong(處處佛像事事佛供)”, “Reflection and self-development”, “Belief in cause and effect (因果).”
