본 연구는 영유아교사의 민주적인 학급경영에 관한 요구도를 분석하고 요구에 관한 우선순위를 도출하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 D시와 C도 소재 어린이집 및 유치원 교사 203명이며, 분석 방법은 SPSS 22.0을 이용하여 빈도와 백분율 분석, 대응표본 t검증, Borich 요구도 분석, The Locus for Focus Model 분석을 사용하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 영유아 교사들은 민주적인 학급경영의 하위 영역 중 교사와 영유아와의 관계에 대한 요구가 가장 높았다. 둘째, 영유아교사의 민주적인 학급경영에 관한 하위영역별 요구도 분석결과 ‘교육과정 운영’ 영역에서는 영유아의 관심사반영, 교육과정 개발·편성·운영, 영유아의 발달에 적합한 교수·학습자료 순으로 요구가 높게 나타났다. ‘교육환경과 시설관리’ 영역에서는 영유아의 필요에 의한 환경 재구성, 유아의 흥미를 고려한 물리적 배치, 영유아의 의견에 따른 작품전시 순으로 요구가 높게 나타났다. ‘교사와 영유아의 관계’ 영역에서는 교사의 지시적인 통제 지양, 영유아와 동등한 의견교환, 함께 만드는 학급규칙 순으로 요구가 높게 나타났다. ‘건강과 안전’ 영역에서는 일상생활에서의 안전교육 요구, ‘지역사회 연계 및 협력’ 영역에서는 자율적인 직무수행, 동료 교사와 협의, 자율장학, 지역사회연계 프로그램 순으로 요구가 높게 나타났다. The purpose of this study is to analyze the needs for democratic classroom management of early childhood teachers and to determine priorities for needs. Survey data were collected from 203 early childhood teachers who work at daycare centers and kindergartens located in D City and C Province. The analysis method used SPSS 22.0 for frequency and percentage analysis, t-test, Borich demand analysis, and The locus for focus model analysis. The findings were as follows. First, early childhood teachers had the highest needs on the relationship between teachers and young children among the sub-area of democratic classroom management. Second, The results of analysis of the needs of early childhood teachers by sub-area for democratic classroom management are as follows. In the area of ‘curriculum operation’, needs were high in order of reflecting the interests of young children, developing·organizing·operating the curriculum, and teaching and learning materials suitable for the development of young children. In the area of ‘educational environment and facility management’, needs were high in order of reconstruction of the environment according to the needs of young children, create a physical environment in consideration of the interests of young children, exhibit the children's works reflect their opinions. In the area of “relationship between teachers and infants,” needs were high in order of avoidance of direct control by teachers, exchange of opinions equally with young children, and class rules created together. In the area of 'Health and Safety', needs were high for safety education in daily life. in the area of 'Community connection and cooperation', needs were high in order of Autonomous job performance, consultation with fellow teachers, self-supervision, and community-related programs.

본 연구는 현직 영유아교사의 민주적인 학급경영에 대한 인식과 실태를 알아보는 것에 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 D시와 C도를 중심으로 유치원과 어린이집에 근무하고 있는 현직 영유아교사 203명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문지는 2020년 2월 10일부터 2월 29일까지 걸쳐 배부 및 회수하였다. 자료 분석은 SPSS 22.0을 이용하여 빈도, 백분율, 평균, 표준편차, t-test, One way ANOVA, Scheffé를 실시하였으며, 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 영유아교사의 일반적 배경변인에 따른 민주적인 학급경영에 대한 인식 및 실태를 분석한 결과, 영유아교사의 경력, 학력, 근무 기관 설립유형에 따라 민주적인 학급경영 인식에 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 영유아교사의 학력, 근무유형, 근무기관 설립유형에 따라 민주적인 학급경영 실태에 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 영유아교사의 민주적 학급경영에 관한 인식과 실태의 차이를 분석한 결과 학급경영의 하위영역인 교육과정 운영, 교육환경과 시설관리, 교사와 영유아의 관계, 건강과 안전지도, 지역사회 연계 및 협력에서 실태보다 인식이 더 높은 것으로 나타났으며 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. The purpose of this study is to examine the early childhood teachers recognition and the actual condition about the democratic classroom management. To this end, it administered questionnaires to 203 early childhood teachers working in kindergartens and daycare centers around D City and C Province. The questionnaires were distributed them and returned from Feb. 20 to Feb. 29, 2020. In the analysis method used SPSS 22.0 for frequency and percentage analysis, average, standard deviation t-test. One-way ANOVA, Scheffé analysis. The findings can be summarized. First, as a result of analyzing the recognition of democratic classroom management there were differences according to the general background variables of early childhood teachers, perception was revealed according career, educational background and type of establishment of a working institution. In the actual condition, there were differences according to educational background, type of work, and type of institution establishment of early childhood teachers. Second, as a result of analyzing differences in recognition and actual conditions of democratic classroom management of early childhood teachers, curriculum operation, which is a sub-area of classroom management, educational environment and facility management, relationship between teachers and young children, health and safety guidance, and community connection. All in the area of cooperation, the perception was higher than the actual situation, and there were significant differences.
