In the industrial field, the theory of drying process is different from the practical application, and it is effective to reduce energy by recirculation of the heat of exhausting gas. But the study of this field may not be performed still. The cure properties of the urea resin moulding compounds was investigated according to drying temperature, drying time, recycle rate of exhausting gas and moulding temperature in the process of drying and moulding. We obtained the following results; water content of material decreases with increasing drying time and drying temperature, and the rate of drying also decreases with increasing recycle rate of exhausting gas. Specially, The cure fluidity of the urea resin moulding compounds decreases, with increasing drying temperature, recycle rate of exhausting gas and moulding temperature. And the correlation equations on water content and cure fluidity of the urea resin moulding material were obtained through a regression analysis of experimental data.

The digestion degrees of the night soil which was taken from a night soil processing plant have been measured in a bubble column according to dilution ratios, aeration velocities, digestion time, and hole area ratios of distribution plate. Digestion degrees increased with increasing dilution ratios and aeration velocities, and they increased with decreasing hole area ratios of distribution plate. The surface tension measurement method for digestion degree gave high accuracy than BOD measurement method. We suggested the estimated digestion degree equations according to various experiment conditions.

The characteristics of critical spontaneous ignition of granulated activated carbon were investigated at a constant ambient temperature and sinusoidally varying ambient temperatures. At a constant ambient temperature, the larger vessels yielded the lower critical spontaneous ignition temperature. The apparent activation energy calculated by the Frank-Kamenetskii`s thermal ignition theory was 38.82(㎉/㏖). At sinusoidally varying ambient temperatures, the critical spontaneous ignition temperature was generally lower than that measured at the constant ambient temperature. For the amplitudes 5℃ and 10℃, a period of 1 hour showed the minimum value of the critical spontaneous ignition temperature, and for the amplitude of 15℃, a period of 2 hours showed the minimum value of the critical spontaneous ignition temperature. The Frank-Kamenetskii`s parameter δ_c(ε, ω) was determined from the results.

The gas holdup ε_g and volumetric liquid-phase mass transfer coefficient K_La in a bubble column with a draught tube were studied experimentally with variation of the concentration of CMC solutions, gas velocity and diameter and height of the draught tube. The gas holdup ε_g increased with decreasing concentration of CMC solutions and increasing the diameter ratio of the draught tube to column diameter but was not affected by H/H_7. The volumetric liquid-phase mass transfer coefficient K_La decreased with increasing concentration of CMC solutions and the height ratio of the draught tube to column height but was not affected by the diameter ratio of the draught tube to column diameter. Dimensionless equations of the gas holdup ε_g and the volumetric liquid-phase mass transfer coefficient K_La were proposed from the experimental results.
