      • 5㎓ 대역의 열차제어(CBTC) 적용에 대한 연구 (A study on Train Control System(CBTC) in 5㎓ Band)

        Due to overuse of commercial network systems such as bluetooth and WI-FI, the problems of frequency interruption and line-crossing may arise. For this reason, wireless communication frequency ISM 2.4㎓, a recently adapted concept in Korea which is employeed by RF-CBTC system, is predicted not to have guarantee for outstanding and continuous performance. Therefore in this study, considering these problems, 5㎓ capacity wireless Lans with international standard 802.11a/b/g applied were installed in the underground urban transit areas and it was proved that these lans exceeded the performance level of 2.4㎓ with international standard 802.11b which is being introduced in the nation. In addition, it was verified through carrying out an application test that the communication condition was stable in a running train with high speed in the tunnel.

      • 서울도시철도 신 열차제어시스템에 대한 연구 (A Study on New Train Control System of the SMRT(Seoul Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation))

        The Seoul Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation(SMRT) is studying the New Train Control System based on Wireless Communication(CBTC System : Communication Based Train Control System) to overcome the limitations of the existing system and to deal with the switch to the new system. The SMRT’s New Train Control System Based on three main elements(train position detecting, radio communication and train control) is being developed in 3 stages. Currently, the development of the train position detecting element with the RFID system and the train position detecting device and the radio communication element with RTIS and DSRC had been developed and equipped on 3 stations(Songpa~Garak Market~Munjeong, 7.3㎞) of Subway Line 8 in the pilot. Such a basic infrastructure of the SMRT’s New Train Control System is having an efficiency test by using the real-time Train Monitoring System and Currently, the third element, the train control(ATP/ATO/ATS/Interlocking) for the study is in progress. Also, the developed system is expected to validate the performance and safety in the next three stage. This paper shows about major developments of the SMRT’s New Train Control System and our future plans.

        SMRT(Seoul Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation) changed PC-oriented office system to Smart-Phone oriented mobile office system(STnF: SMRT Talk & Flash) and provided smart phone to all staffs. STnF make it possible not only voice communication between staff but also to input and inquiry all kind of information related to work(ex: Facility maintenance Rolling Stock management office management Finance human resource etc.) based on smart phone. STnF conquers the limitation of time and space. All staffs can commute to the site directly to reduce moving time and to share information between staffs so SMRT improve speed and reliability of work by making a quick decision and action on the spot. After introduction of STnF within 1 year the equipment failure ratio fell to 47%. Mobile office system reduced and level-off the step of approval. so enhanced civil customer service. Quantification and scientific movement of work make it fast evolution and development. These business improvement make it possible to put more outstanding manpower on new business and R&D project and this contributes to company's management effectiveness.

        5678SMRT has installed various sensor for operating conditions(field of electric facilities signal communication equipment and track) and environment of Every Function Room for remotely detecting and monitoring. Installed sound sensor for analyzed after remotely heard the noise of every equipment at Every Function Room and temperature sensor for check the temperature condition of Every Function Room. Additional installed voltage sensor in signal equipment room for monitoring RF track-circuit's voltage condition. Installed displacement sensor at The Chungdam bridge's railway for measuring and monitoring track displacement caused by temperature change and Pan/Tilt camera at sub-station and drainage for remotely field monitoring . Installed sensor for each equipment's operating condition and failure at Every Function Room then periodic check of workforce turned to around-the-clock surveillance by sensor therefore improvement of operating equipment. SMRT is lots of prevent a failure by Immediately detect of precondition of equipment failure by analyzed the sensor data. If the occurrence of an failure become detected Immediately so possibility correct diagnosis and order by remotely field check by installed camera and sound sensor at field.

        As a public transit playing an important role in the era of high gas prices subway corresponds the national strategy 'Low carbon Green growth'; accordingly passengers who would use the transportation are steadily increasing. Subway operators are required to provide subway users with services based on higher-quality system safety convenience & high reliability level. Furthermore as the legally allowed maximum life time of EMUs is extended it is necessary to localize & standardize the parts of EMUs. This paper presents a modelling of systematic EMU(SR001) manufacturing technique which enables us to reflect passenger and subway operator's demands in the whole EMU manufacturing process from the initial design phase to its completion by making full use of the know-how based on subway operators' experiences. SR001 enabled SMRT's staffs to participate in the EMU design & its equipment manufacturing; consequently it realized the innovative system which meets passengers' requirements. Moreover the process lead time was reduced dramatically. The result of this research will be helpful in providing useful guidelines for railway industry policy and development making in Korea.

      • 기존 도시철도 구간에서 CBTC를 위한 제한속도 향상에 관한 연구 (A Study on Improvement of Limit Speed for CBTC within Exsiting Urban Railroad Sectors)

        Usually urban railways are built under ground thus the necessary condition of urban railroad, a linear-shaped track, causes a difficulty in enhancement of speed limits of urban rail. Also the underground construction of city railroad produces speed limit values reduced according to a speed code array, in case of speed decision according to the conventional block section division, thus onventionally it could not but apply speed limit values lower than actual safety speeds. In this study, The above two facts induced the author to study on a method to enhance speed limit values for CBTC within existing urban railroad sectors. Since it is possible to exchange data continuously and to control speeds in case of railroads based on CBTC, the author applied result values of speed limits, which were gained based on a railroad condition, a linear track, to the CBTC system without correction of the result values and then the author compared and analyzed, through simulation, the running times and the efficiencies of running energies between railway stations, between the existing fixed-block system and the CBTC system. As a result simulation, the improvement of speed and the deceleration distance of reduction confirmed that it was effective to reduce the time to travel between stations. A fixed block the set of constraints on the speed limit, he way the operation is optimized based CBTC speed limit by suggesting ways to reset the scheduled speed measures to improve were extracted.
