Fiber reinforcement can significantly improve the properties of concrete. Particulary, toughness or energy-absorbing ability of fiber reinforced concrete (FRC) is frequently higher than that of unreinforced concrete. Toughness is a measure of energy absorption capacity and used to characterize FRC ability to resist fracture when the static, dynamic and impact loads are working However, the current standard methods of characterizing the toughness of FRC have proven to be some inadequate and problematic and have caused a great deal of dissension and confusion. This paper researches into some of inadequacy and problems which existing evaluation methods involve, and aimed to propose the fundamental about the reasonable evaluation method for characterizing toughness of FRC.

The objective of this study is to investigate the dyeing behaviors of chlorotriazine type dyes with different functional groups. cotton knitted fabrics were dyed with Red 4(monochlorotriazine type, MCT), Red 2(dichlorotriazine type, DCT), Red 120(bifunctional monochlorotriazine type, 2×MCT)and Red 240(bifuncional monochlorotriazine×sulfatoethylsulfone type, MCT+SES) which are chlorotriazine type. The primary exhaustion of cotton knitted fabrics dyed with Red 4, Red 2, and Red 120 containing only chlorotriazine group were relatively high, but the secondary exhaustion of cotton knitted fabrics dyed with Red 240 with SES group were higher than that of the others without it. The fixation of bifunctional dyes(Red 120 and Red 240) were higher than that of monofunctional dyes(Red 4 and Red 2). When cotton knitted fabrics were dyed in the bath previously hydrolyzed at various temperature, the adsorption of bath hydrolyzed at high temperature was seriously decteased. The unfixed dye on the cotton knitted fabrics dyed with reactive dyes with SES group washed off easily at the early stage of wash-off process.
