The purpose of this study was to gain a better understanding of the effect of in-cylinder gas thermal stratification for reducing the pressure-rise rate in HCCI combustion. The engine was fueled with Di-Methyl Ether. The computations were conducted using both the standard single-zone version and a custom multi-zones version of the Senkin application of the CHEMKIN Ⅱ.

This study shows that the potential for extending the high-load operating limit by adjusting the thermal stratification is very large.

The HCCI engine is a next generation engine, with high efficiency and low emissions. The engine may be an alternative to SI and DI engines; however, a pressure rise rate is a major limitation for high load range and power reduction. Recently, we were able to reduce the pressure rise rate using thermal stratification. Nevertheless, this was insufficient to produce high power. In this study, the reduction of the pressure rise rate using thermal stratification was confirmed and the HCCI engine power was increased using the boost pressure. The rate and engine power were produced by CHEMKIN and modified SENKIN. As a result of increasing the boost pressure, a higher IMEP was attained while the pressure rise rate increased only slightly in the HCCI with thermal stratification.

HCCI engine is next generation engine, which has high efficiency and low emission. HCCI engine can be an alternative of SI engine and DI engine. However a pressure rise rate is a major cause of limitation of high load range and power reduction. Recently, we are able to reduce pressure rise rate by using thermal stratification. Nevertheless, it is not enough to get high power. In this study, we confirm that the reducing of a pressure rise rate by using thermal stratification and increased HCCI engine power by using boost pressure. We get those by using of CHEMKIN and modified SENKIN. Moreover, this study shows characteristic of the HCCI combustion by the effect of thermal stratification and booster pressure. Those are the result of thermal stratification condition. A CA50 and an IMEP were not affected by the thermal stratification. As a result, for thermal stratification condition, as initial average temperature increase and as thermal width is large, pressure rise rate become low. CA50 and IMEP were not affected by the thermal stratification. For increasing boost pressure, it is possible to get higher IMEP while the pressure rise rate increases little in HCCI with thermal stratification..

This study is done by simulating 2.0 DOHC engine with WAVE 7.2 program of Ricardo and identified valve timing variables for increasing the performance of the engine. The simulation' results are highly agreed with WOT torque experimental data and helped to predict the tendency of performance as the valve timing change. Further, a VVT system can be used to improve fuel consumption, performance and emissions. This paper also describes the effect of VVT terms on WOT power, torque and residual gas content. WOT torque was higher when intake valves were closed early for low rpm and late for high rpm.
단백질 수준과 게르마늄 흑운모의 첨가가 산란생산성, 계란품질 및 분내 휘발성 지방산에 미치는 영향

본 연구의 목적은 단백질 수준이 산란계 사료내 게르마늄 흑운모의 첨가가 생산성, 난각특성 및 분내 악취성분 함량에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위하여 실시하였다. 사양시험은 51주령 ISA Brown 갈색계 144수를 공시하였으며, 처리구는 옥수수-대두박 위주의 저단백질 사료 (LPD), 고단백질 사료 (HPD), LPD 사료에 게르마늄흑운모를 1.0 첨가한 처리구와 (LPDGB; LPD+1.0% germanium biotite, (주)서봉바이오베스텍), HPD사료에 게르마늄흑운모를 1.0%(HPD-GB; HPD+1.0% germanium biotite)로 4개 처리를 하여 처리당 3반복, 반복당 12마리씩 완전 임의배치하였다. 총 56일간의 사양시험기간 동안, 산란율에서는 HPD 처리구가 유의적으로 증가하는 경향을 보였다(P<0.01). 난중은 게르마늄흑운모의 첨가함에 따라 유의적으로 감소하는 경향을 나타내었으며(P<0.01), 난각강도에서는 처리구간 유의적인 차이는 나타나지 않았다 (P>0.05). 둔단부 두께를 측정한 결과 게르마늄흑운모 첨가에 따라 유의적으로 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. (P<0.02) 예단부, 중앙부의 난각두께를 측정한 결과 처리구간 유의적 차이는 보이지 않았다. 난황계수에서는 HPD사료를 급여한 처리구가 LPD 사료를 급여한 처리구보다 낮았다(P<0.01). 분중 Propionic acid(P<0.01)와 butyric acid (P<0.03)에서는 게르마늄흥운모를 첨가함에 따라 유의적으로 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. Butyric acid에서는 HPD 처리구가 유의적으로 증가하는 경향을 보였다.(P<0.02). Acetic aicd에서도 게르마늄흑운모 첨가 처리구가 무첨가 처리구보다 유의적으로 감소하는 경향을 보였다.(P<0.01). $NH_3$-N에서는 LPD 사료의 경우보다 HPD 사료에서 게르마늄흑운모 첨가 효과가 나타난 것으로 보인다(P<0.05). 결과적으로 산란계 사료내 게르마늄흑운모의 첨가는 분내 휘발성 지방산 발생을 감소시켜 축사환경의 개선효과가 있을 것으로 사료된다. This study conducted to investigate the effect of dietary germanium biotite by protein level in laying hen diets. One hundred forty four, 51 weeks old ISA brown commercial layer, were used in experiment. Dietary treatments were 1) low protein diet(LPD), 2) high protein diet(HPD), 3) LPD-GB(LPD + 1.0% germanium biotite) and 4) HPD-GB(HPD + 1.0% germanium biotite). Henday egg production tended to be increased as the concentration of protein in diets increased with significant difference(P<0.01). Egg weight tended to decrease by increasing of supplementation germanium biotite in the diets(P<0.01). Egg shell breaking strength was not influenced by germanium biotite supplementation(P>0.05). Large band of egg decrease as increasing of supplementation germanium biotite in the diets(P<0.02). Sharp and middle band of egg were not influenced by germanium biotite supplementation. Egg yolk index tended to decrease as increasing of supplementation germanium biotite in the diets(p<0.01). Fecal propionic acid(P<0.01) and butyric acid(P<0.03) were decrease as the concentration of germanium biotite in the diet was increased. Also, butyric acid increased as the concentration of protein in diets increased with significant difference(P<0.02). Supplementation germanium biotite in the diet reduced the fecal acetic acid(P<0.01). Fecal $NH_3$-N of hens fed HPD-GB diet was decreased(P<0.05) compared to that LPD-GB diet. In conclusion, germanium biotite supplementation to layer diets can reduce fecal volatile fatty acid compabebts.
