Graphene-based nanomaterial has received a lot of attention due to its thermal conductivity, remarkable electrical and mechanical properties. Recently, targeting drug delivery system using a graphene material as an application has been proposed. Soluble rGO/FA-PMA assembly was prepared in a top-down approach. We easily synthesize folic acid (FA)-pyrenemethylamine (PMA) conjugation using amidation process and then prepared FA-PMA and rGO were attached via simple noncovalent approach in p-p interaction. Synthesized rGO/FA-PMA assemblies might be used as cancer cell-responsive graphene hybrid materials. <sup>**</sup>2017년 한국교통대학교 지원을 받아 수행하였음.

Graphene, one of the most popular materials, has attracted a lot of attention due to superior structural and electrical properties in many applications. Recently, several graphene based materials have been researched for targeted drug delivery system. In this system, graphene/fluorescent hybrid materials are very important used in bio-imaging. However, it is difficult to be obtained preparation of fluorescent graphene because graphene easily quenches diverse organic and inorganic fluorescent via resonance energy transfer. Herein, we synthesis of FA-PMA using amidation routes between FA and PMA and it can be simply attached to graphene through non-covalent interaction. Carbon quantum dots (CQDs) have received considerable attentions because of their remarkable optoelectrical properties, excellent biocompatibility, good dispersion stability in aqueous media and non toxicity to human bodies compared with other semiconductor or inorganic quantum dots (QDs). Folic acid (FA) is targeting materials for drug delivery system because it binds with Folate receptors (FRs) on the surface of cancer cells. In this study, highly fluorescent and multifunctional CQDs have been synthesized from folic acid as a kind of A2B type polyamidation monomer (A:-COOH, B:-NH2) via simple microwave treatment. Synthesized folic acid-based CQDs (FA-CQDs) show strong blue emission, low cytotoxicity by MTT assay, and high cellular uptake by flow cytometer analysis. Consequently, FA-CQDs can be successfully used as targeted drug delivery system for the therapy and diagnosis of cancers. ** 2019년 한국교통대학교 지원을 받아 수행하였음.
