Stroboscopic phase shifting (SPS) Shearopraphy for the quantitative measurement of the vibration amplitude when an object is oscillating is compared with SPS ESPI. SPS ESPI can measure the amplitude quantitatively in certain condition, but cannot measure the amplitude quantitatively for each vibration mode of an object under the same condition. SPS Shearography with the numerical integration can overcome the problem of SPS ESPI. The results obtained by SPS Shearography are compared with those of SPS ESPI, LDV, and FEA using ANSYS code. According to the comparison, it is confirmed that SPS Shearography can be used not only to measurequantitatively various types of out-of-plane deformation of a oscillating object but also to overcome the problem of SPS ESPI. Therefore, SPS Shearography is adequate to the industrial application with high reliability.
