곡물 bin을 이용한 벼의 건조실험을 수행하여 상온통풍건조 시스템과 태양열 건조 시스템의 건조 특성을 비교하여 분석하였다. 태양열 건조의 시뮬레이션 모형에 대한 컴퓨터 프로그램을 개발하였으며 시뮬레이션 모형에 의한 함수율의 예측치는 실측치와 전체적으로 일치하였다.<br/> 또한, inverter를 사용하여 벼의 건조 상태에 따라 송풍량을 적절하게 제어하는 송풍량 제어 시스템을 개발하였으며, 개발된 송풍량 제어 시스템을 통하여 에너지 절약 효과를 얻을 수 있었다. In-bin grain drying experiments were performed to investigate the drying characteristics between natural air and solar heated-air drying system of rough rice. A computer simulation model for solar drying system of rough rice resulted in a good agreement between the experimental and predicted moisture content.<br/> In order to save the electric energy consumption of fan, airflow rates control system using inverter was developed and resulted in the effect of energy saving.

Controlling insects and diseases is an important factor for increasing yields of agricultural products. Power sprayer is widely used in cooperative controlling of insects and diseases for the production of rice and fruits. However, farmers need a long hose to use the power sprayer and that presently most of the farmers have hose made abroad. This study was designed to test the change of outside diameter and unit Iength, and to measure the pressure Ioss for three different kinds of hoses made domestically and one made in Japan. The resulte are as follows; 1. The three kinds of Korean-made hoses showed an increase in the length and a decrease in the outside diameter as the spraying pressure increase. The rate of change of the length ranged from 3.5% to 1.6% and the rate of change of the outside diameter from 3.5% to 1.4% respectively. 2. As the length of hose increases, the pressure loss was 3kg/㎠ at the end of a 100m of the hose made in Japan, while it was 7-10 kg/㎠ for Korean-made hoses. 3. The Korean-made hoses were not broken under 27-28kg/㎠ of spraying pressure. 4. As a conclusion, the Korean-made hoses can safely be used under continuous rated pressure of the power sprayer, but they can not properly be used for the case of cooperative controlling system where a long hose is reguired because of the heaviness of the hoses and the narrowness of the inside diametar. Hence, it is highly recommended to improve the Korean-made hoses to be used for such a situation.

This experiment was designed to study wear phenomenon of metals against soil, especially about the materials of shares of the plow operated in the various soils. The materials of shares of the plow which is produced in Korea are mostly gray cast iron. On the other hand, steel having great hardness and high durability is not used commonly because of the high cost and the complex manufacturing process. Therefore, in order to determinate the durability of materials, the wear test was conducted by the S.T.Y type wear test machine. In this test, 4 samples (gray cast iron, iron plate, soft steel and heat treated steel) and 5 kinds of different grains of dry sand were used. The results obtained in this experiment are summarized as follows. 1) In evevy case of sands, the amount of wear of 4 different metals showed significant differents. Especially gray cast iron showed 8~10 times more wearing than the heat treated steel. 2) The amount of wear of metals is increased almost linearly with the time of abraision. And the amount of wear is decreased in order of gray cast iron, iron plate, soft steel and heat treated steel. 3) The amount of wear is remarkably increased with the large particle of sands. 4) It is considered that replacing the existing plow shares of gray cast iron with heat treated steel would bring much profit to the farmers. 5) In Korea, there have never been any experiments on the wear phenomenon of metals. It is very important to test wear phenomenon not only shares of the plow but also various farm machinery which is operated in the soils, because such test has an effect on the life and efficiency of farm machinery. Now, studies on: wear phenomenon of metals in various soil conditions are to be made in the further investigations.
