This paper proposes a design method to determine the specifications of the powertrain components (including the traction motors, the engine, the generator, the battery, the reduction gears) of the high mobility series hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) according to the vehicle required performances. The powertrain of the target series HEV consists of an internal combustion engine, a generator, a battery system, and two traction motors at the front and rear axles. The peak powers of traction motors are calculated based on the acceleration requirements and grade ability. The size of the engine and the generator are calculated to meet tow ability, and the size of the battery system is determined by silent driving requirement and grade ability. Reduction gear ratio of the traction motors are calculated according to the maximum cruise speed ability. The simulation model is developed by using the Cruise<SUP>®</SUP> and the simulation results show that determined powertrain specifications satisfy the required performances.

Big data based on text massages in SNS(Social Network Services) play important roles in analyzing public opinion because they the contain various opinions of society"s members. In order to collect and analyze the Big data effectively, it is necessary to understand the differences between characteristics for each types of the SNS. In this paper, being based on construal level theory, we studied the differences between characteristics for each types of the SNS. The types of SNS is divided into opened SNS and closed SNS. The types in the characteristics of SNS is divided into desirability and feasibility. We carried out experiment through surveying questionnaire reflecting the divisions. As a result, we observed, first, that in opened SNS, the desirability would be higher than feasibility. This shows that users in the opened SNS attach greater importance to the information exchange and the participation in society than to interest and pleasure. Second, we observed that in closed SNS, the feasibility would be higher than desirability. This show that users in the closed SNS attach greater importance to interest and pleasure than to the information exchange and the participation in society.

The 4WD TMED vehicles have a drive system with a rear wheel drive system added to the existing front wheel drive 2WD TMED system. The system has the NVH problem of 4WD booming and transfer rattle noise, as in the existing 4WD vehicles. The main cause of the NVH problem is engine torque fluctuations. The existing solution to this problem is to solve the problem by adding a noise reduction device or increasing the coupling torque. In this paper, we propose an electric-engine fluctuation canceling (EFC) algorithm that can solve the NVH problem by canceling the engine torque fluctuation to the drive line. HSG speed was used to generate EFC motor torque, and Band Pass Filter and RLS Adaptive Filter technology were used. The EFC torque is added to the feed-forward term to the existing motor torque command to eliminate engine torque fluctuations. The proposed EFC algorithm has been verified through actual vehicle tests, and it has been validated that it has an improved effect over or equal to the existing NVH improvement method.

In this paper, we propose an enhanced PI speed control algorithm to improve the engagement performance by synchronizing the engine rotation speed and the rotation speed of the drive motor at engine start in a parallel hybrid vehicle. By shortening the engine clutch engagement time as much as possible, the EV acceleration response characteristic, which is a disadvantage of the parallel hybrid vehicle, can be improved and the energy used to maintain heavy engine rotation can be minimized. The proposed algorithm has been validated through simulation using Matlab and vehicle test results on Grandeur hybrid vehicle

This paper is concerned with a supervisory control strategy for a series hybrid electric vehicle (SHEV). The powertrain of the SHEV consists of an engine/generator and an electrical storage system (ESS) in which not only a battery but also an ultra-capacitor is incorporated. There is a detailed configuration that the ultra-capacitor is connected to a bi-directional dc-dc converter for being controlled actively whereas the battery is directly tied to the electric floating bus. In order to achieve several objectives such as extending battery life by slowing battery current level variation strategy among a engine, a battery and a ultra-capacitor based on a power follower control plus frequency distribution strategy. A signal processing technique is introduced for the decomposition of the electrical power demand into command signals to control engine power and ultra-capacitor power while the battery responds autonomously to the residue of power demand. A forward simulation model is built in Cruise® and MATLAB/Simulink®. The Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed sstrategy.
