신문을 활용한 한국어 수업 방안 - 학문 목적 학습자 대상 읽기ㆍ쓰기 수업을 중심으로-

Academic purposed Korean learners need learning skills to study their major. By language function, reading and writing skills are most needed. Newspapers are good teaching materials that can develop both reading and writing skills. Because there are many related texts and various types of texts on the same subject, they can identify key information, form a new meaning, and use it for rewriting. The purpose of this study is to investigate the study of academic purpose learner and the use of newspaper in Korean language education. In the Korean language education, the newspaper has various advantages in developing reading and writing ability. Reading and writing lessons using newspapers can be divided into the steps of forming a background knowledge, searching and reading, forming a knowledge of mutual textuality while sharing readings, and reconstructing. This will be a lesson plan for academic learners to develop basic reading and writing skills necessary for their studies by applying the information they have read.

Kang, Hyunja, 2009. Teaching-Learning Model for Academic Writing. The Language and Culture 5-1: 1-22. The purpose of this paper is to suggest effective methods for developing academic writing proficiency of foreign students. College students are required to write texts that meet the needs of academic discourse community. But their poor Korean ability is not good enough for foreign students to improve their academic writing proficiency. That's why they need effective methods of Korean writing education. The summary of this paper is as follows. Korean learners with the academic purpose need to learn a variety of expressions and functions through a result-centered writing education. The reason is that, by reading and imitating various sentences in their textbooks, they can get used to making use of those expressions, and accordingly can make similar sentences. Moreover, expressions, such as definition, comparison, analysis, classification, quotation, and illustration, frequently appearing in their major textbooks, enable them to do the job better.
