For the azeotropic ternary systems which contain water, acetic acid, and either ethyl acetate, or N-propyl acetate, or N-butyl acetate as the entrainer, the binodal curves and the tie-lines are, respectively, determined using the titration method and the cross-section method at 25℃ and 40℃. With the UNIQUAC model, these experimental equilibrium data are correlated with good accuracy. The UNIQUAC parameters for the binary pair of water and acetic acid are almost entrainer-independent. However those model parameters appear to be influenced by the temperature of phase separation to a considerable extent.

To estimate plait points of ternary liquid-liquid equilibria(LLE) of type 1, a novel method is proposed. In general, the plait points resulting from correlation of the tie lines with the thermodynamic models are not located on the experimentally determined binodal curves. In addition, determination of the plait points using the correlation methods requires binodal curve data as well as the tie line data. In the proposed method, two parameters, weight fraction of a component and the ratio of weight fractions of remaining two components, are varied until linearity between logarithmic tie-line length and logarithmic distance of the tie-line from the plait point is attained so that the order parameter equation of Widom is satisfied. With this method, plait points of several ternary systems are estimated and it turns out that the results are favorably comparable with the results obtained by the method proposed by Treybal et al. However, it needs to emphasize that the method proposed in this paper uses only tie-line data while the method of Treybal et al. with the correlation of Othmer and Tobias requires experimental binodal curve data in addition to the tie-line data.

기상 재순환 평형조를 사용하여 대기압 이하의 여러 압력에서 glycerol-물 계에 대한 기-액 평형을 측정하였다. 이 연구에서 고려한 이성분계는 비등점 차이가 매우 큰 성분들로 구성되어 있다. 비등점의 차이가 큰 혼합물의 경우, 순수한 성분으로부터 유추할 수 있는 물리적 특성은 실제 혼합물의 특성과는 매우 다르므로 정확한 혼합물의 특성을 이해하지 않으면 안된다. 특히 비등점이 높은 성분의 액상농도가 증가하면 혼합물의 비등점이 급격하게 높아지는 현상이 일어난다. 그러므로 실제공정의 효율적 운전을 위해서는 비이상성 혼합물의 상평형에 관한 정보가 필수적이다. 측정한 기-액 평형 데이터는 UNIQUAC 모델을 이용하여 정확하게 상관관계 시킬 수 있었다. 또한, 데이터의 건전성을 확인하기 위하여 열역학적 건전성 테스트를 수행하였다. In this study, vapor-liquid equilibria of a binary system, which consists of glycerol and water, are measured using a vapor-recirculating modified Othmer still at various subatmospheric pressures. The constituent components of the binary system considered in this study exhibit a large difference in the boiling temperatures. Since it is generally observed that the properties of a mixture greatly differ from those of the pure components, the phase equilibrium characteristics of a mixture can not be predicted from the properties of the pure components. Furthermore, an abrupt increase in the boiling temperature occurs as the concentration of the higher boiling component exceeds a certain value. Therefore, it is essential to acquire realistic phase equilibrium data of the mixture for industrial applications. Using the UNIQUAC model, the experimental vapor-liquid equilibrium data are correlated with good accuracy. The thermodynamic consistency test is also performed to ensure soundness of the data.

The LNG cold power generation system was designed in favor of the Rankine cycle. The thermodynamic properties are calculated with the Peng-Robinson model. The feed gas conditions of LNG Test Bed Train No.1 were incorporated in the steady state simulation of the power generation system. The commercial tool Aspen HYSYS made all the analysis by using the provided input data and some necessary assumptions. In particular, this paper reviewed the process of the rankine cycle including heat duty of heat exchanger, flow rate of refrigerant for optimal refrigerant.
초임계유체를 이용한 고삼으로부터 Genistein의 추출

This study was directed to finding an optimum extraction condition of genistein from the S. flavescens with supercritical carbon dioxide as a solvent. In this effort, effects of the extraction conditions including pressure, temperature and a co-solvent on the extraction efficiency were investigated. The aqueous ethanol and methanol solutions were used as co-solvents while the tested operating pressure and temperature ranges were from 200 bar to 300 bar and from 308.15 K to 323.15 K, respectively. The concentration of genistein was determined by means of HPLC equipped with a UV detector. From the results, it was observed that an increase in pressure led to the higher extraction efficiency. Further, methanol showed better performance as a co-slovent than ethanol. The DPPH radical scavenging activities were measured to compare antioxidant activities of S. flavescens extracts.
