ATC/ATO/TWC System is the used for the train operation instead of drivers. It is interfaced with train, train equipment, wayside facilities. In this paper described configuration signaling system, construction of signaling system software and structure of system safety. This paper describes the method of performing automatic driving by ATC/ATO/TWC. Also, reported test result for mainline static test and mainline running test.

According to passenger"s gain and headway"s contraction, railway vehicle is required quick and correct running. The importance of ATC device was increased gradually, and also is acting important role in safe train running and efficient use in this reason. Now, railway vehicle that is manufactured or is remodeled are designed to most automatic driving system, and ATC device design direction than other device of railway vehicle influences to whole system in this reason. Also, according as system becomes complicated gradually, importance of fault tracing function for ATC device is emphasized gradually, and in this reason research about efficient fault tracing method is to act important role heightening reliability of ATC device. In this document, that analyzing about result through examination of automatic train operation system of localization model ATC device(SG-100) and application example, and do so that investigate about efficient fault tracing.

Nowadays, the technology development of communication and system engineering should impact on the Train Control System(TCS). The one of main developments in TCS is the Communication Based Train Control(CBTC), which does not depend on the track circuit. Currently, there are the project to modernize TCS as CBTC system from the track circuit system around the world. In Korea, there are the new CBTC system revenue projects such as Busan-Gimhae LRT, Sin-Bundang Line, and so on. There is also Government project called Maglev Line in Daejeon, which is applied CBTC system. Through the examples of world TCS renovation, it is expected to modernize the track circuit TCS system as CBTC system in Korea. Therefore, we would express the advantage of developing from the traditional TCS system to CBTC TCS system.

Onboard ATC performs the train speed ristriction function by receiving the speed limit on sections of track from wayside ATC. Onboard ATC can protect passenger from collision and derailment, and so on. So, the high level of safety and reliability for Onboard ATC is required, and by this reason, it is also required to improve the safety of Onboard ATC by applying the result of safety analysis on the Onboard ATC into its design and developing from the concept definition to the detailed desing phase. The paper introduces, when developing Onboard ATC, the safety improvement of Onboard ATC can be accomplished by applying system requirements from Risk Analysis into software and hardware.

The Rolling Stock pursues more safe, speedy and accurate operation on the increment of the passenger and the short headway. Signalling system is providing an assurance on safety and reliability of the system, which is based on fail-safe concept. Therefore we are willing to study up on MMI device for new onboard ATP/ATO equipment which is used for driver to recognize train status and fault more quickly and to solve any problem more rapidly, which can maximize the stability and reliability of the system.
