        Liquid core reduction (LCR) means the technology that upper frame of bender semgent press the solified shell of slab in the strand of caster. Thus, bender segment frame should have the sufficient strength against the pressing force. We have designed the bender segment and conducted experiments on several cases according to slab thickness. And then, we have obtained the material property of the range 900~1300℃ through the compression test in high temperature furnace. We have also done the LCR test in the pilot caster and compared with the result of compression test. And then, we have found that there is an analogy between LCR force and the compression strain curve in high temperature. As a result, we have known that the inner quality of slab is secured under the 20% over pressing condition of slab thickness.

      • 연속주조기의 몰드 폭 변경 패턴 개발

        To improve the width adjustment speed in continuous casting, 4 pattern types of width adjustment was studied. The main topics were to minimize the actuating force of WAM actuator, to develop the deformation analysis model of solidified shell in the mold, to induce the main limit factor for speedup of width adjustment. On the basis of the width adjustment experiment, the notable features of 4 pattern types were taken out and we had compared their forces with each other. The experiment was carried out in the same casting speed for the driving force comparision of each pattern. To tune the parameter of the deformation analysis model of solidified shell, the experiment results were applied to them. And to speed up of width adjustment and reduce the driving force, we controlled the parameters of the pattern. The most effective pattern was the Fast Mode Pattern and the main parameter to reduce the driving forces was taper when the actuator was moving.

        연속주조기의 몰드 폭 변경 패턴 개발

        연속주조 시에 폭변경 속도를 향상시키기 위해 폭조정의 4 가지 패턴에 대해 연구하였다. 주요 사항은 폭변경 장치의 구동력을 최소화하고, 몰드 내의 응고막의 변형해석 모델을 개발하고, 폭변경 속도 상승을 제한하는 주요인자를 도출하는 것이다. 폭변경 실험을 근간으로 4 개 패턴의 주요 특징을 도출하였고, 각 패턴에 대한 힘을 비교하였다. 실험은 각 패턴의 구동력 비교를 위해 동일한 주조속도에서 수행하였다. 응고막 변형 해석모델의 변수를 조정하기 위해 실험결과를 모델에 적용하였다. 폭변경 속도를 상승시키고, 구동력을 저감시키기 위해 패턴의 변수를 제어하였다. 가장 효율적인 패턴은 고속패턴이었으며, 구동력을 저감하기 위한 주요인자는 구동장치가 이동할 때의 기울기였다. Four patterns for width adjustment were studied with an aim to increase the width-adjustment speed in continuous casting. The main goals are to minimize the actuating force of a WAM actuator, to develop a deformation analysis model of a solidified shell in the mold, and to induce the main limit factor for the speedup of width adjustment. On the basis of the widthadjustment experiment, the notable features of four patterns types were considered, and we compared the corresponding actuating forces. For comparing the driving forces of the patterns, during the experiment, the same casting speed was maintained for each pattern. To optimize the parameter of the deformation analysis model of the solidified shell, the experiment results were applied to them. To speed up width adjustment and to reduce the driving force, we controlled the pattern parameters. The most effective pattern was the fast-mode pattern, and the taper was the main parameter that helped reduce the driving forces during the motion of the actuator.

        슬래브 크리프거동을 고려한 박슬래브 고속연속주조시 준동적 벌징 거동해석

        The continuous casting process has been adopted increasingly in recent years to save both energy and labor. It has experienced a rapid development in the production of semi-finished steel products, replacing the conventional route of ingot casting plus rolling. To achieve this good merit, however, more studies about thermal and dynamical interactions between roll and slab are needed. So this paper shows the results of the dynamic bulging in thin slab casting, which is one of the critical factors in designing and operating the continuous casting machine. The dynamic bulging between two supporting rolls under ferro-static pressure and slab-self weight has been computed in terms of creep and elastic-plasticity. The strain and strain rate distributions in solidified shell undergoing a series of bulging are calculated with working boundary conditions.
