자연 이미지의 유닛을 활용한 지속가능한 패션디자인 연구

The purpose of this study is to investigate design methods using nature image units for a sustainable fashion requiring various design approaches. The results are as follows. First, designs using the nature image unit were expressed by methods such as repetition of natural form and application of aesthetic ratio, arrangement in proportion to the growth principle of nature, and application of fractal geometry algorithm. Second, fashion designs using nature image units were classified as follows. ‘Fashion using realistic nature units’ a type which naturally complements the differences between units by reproducing realistic forms, textures, and colors in nature; ‘Fashion using natural symbolic units’ a type expressing handcrafted luxury by repeatedly connected units that symbolize geometric or natural forms; ‘Fashion using ecological structure-mimicking units’ a type which expresses formativeness by imitating the habitat structure of creature using the origami technique; ‘Fashion using units applying fractal algorithm’ a type invented in an original form using computer algorithm to connect units. Third, sustainable fashion design characteristics were implemented, such as eliminating the need for machine sewing between units, reducing fabric waste by using nature image contours as seams, and extending clothing life by applying modular units. As a result, the use of nature image units in fashion design has expanded the feasibility of sustainable design, and is expected to be proposed as a solution for design development with originality, luxury, and economic value.
