This article is about the experiment on the deactivation of automotive three-way catalyst by lead poisoning. Fuel used is gasoline which contains 0.26g Pb/ℓ. The three-way catalyst used is the ceramic monolith type catalyst AA9-163. The vehicle is drived for three cases which the distances are 1000㎞(C₁), 2000㎞(C₂), 3000㎞(C₃). The speed of the vehicle is around 100㎞/h. The Light-Off (L/O) temperature and the three-way activations of catalysts are measured by the exhaust emission activity tester. The results of L/O temperature test in C₂ case show that the L/O temperature for CO is rised until 233℃ and the reduction activity of catalyst is failed for HC and NOx. Three-way activation test indicates that the catalyst is ineffective by lead poisoning which is used for the vehicle drived upto 2000㎞. The reduction activity for CO is less sensitive than that for HC and NOx to lead poisoning.
