Vol.10 No.2

Head residence of Uiseong Kim’s is located at Cheonjoen-ri Yimha-myoen Andong in Gyeongbuk province and designated as Korean national treasures No.450. The house is a few upper class house having whole composition of residence, constructed before Ymjin Japanese invasion so it has historic value in the history of Korean traditional house. The paper studies Pungsu(Fenshui) of the site of head residence of Uiseong Kim’s. The house selected auspicious site having senggi(生氣) after carefully analzing surrounding natural topography with Pungsu and compensate the partial deficiency with Bibo(a geomantic enhancement). Through the study, I found that Pungsu is regarded as a very important factor for the rise and fall of the family. Like this, Punsu strongly influenced the site selection of the traditional house of Joseon Period.
