戦後思想が残したものと消費社会の可能性 - 吉本隆明 · 埴谷雄高の『anan』をめぐる論争を通して-

본고는 요시모토 다카아키와 하니야 유타카라는 두 사상가가 일본 사회의 소비사회화에 어떻게 대응했는지를 살펴봄으로써, 패전으로 인해 형성된 일본의 전후 사상의 과제가 어떻게 해결되었는지, 어떻게 해결되지 않았는지에 대해 밝힐 것이다. 요시모토와 하니야는 국가의 극복을 전후 사상의 과제로 받아들인다. 우익적 지향이든 좌익적 지향이든 국가와 이를 구성하는 권력을 보존하며 20세기가 가져온 비참함에 대응할 수 없다고 본 것이다. 그러나 그러한 과제에 대해 요시모토는 1980년대 소비사회화로 해결의 길이 열렸다고 본 반면, 하니야는 그렇지 않다고 보고 두 사람은 결별한다. 특히 여성 패션잡지『anan』을 둘러싸고 문제가 되었는데, 하니야가 거기서 국가 자본주의의 작동을 본 반면, 요시모토는 국가의 틀을 넘어선 사적 욕망의 전개를 보았다고 평가한다. 하지만 요시모토도 그러한 사적 욕망의 전개 자체가 사람들을 여전히 사회적 권력 관계속에 묶어두는 것으로 보지는 않았다. 본론은 요시모토와 하니야의 사상의 한계와 가능성을 밝히는 것을 통해 전후 사상 속에서 어떤 문제가 현대에도 여전히 유효한지 살펴본다. This article clarifies how the issues of Japanese postwar thought shaped by the defeat in World War II were resolved and how they were not resolved by examining how two thinkers, Takaaki Yoshimoto and Yutaka Haniya, responded to the transformation of Japanese society into a consumer society. Yoshimoto and Haniya believed that postwar thought must aim above all else to transcend the state. They analyzed that neither the right nor the left could cope with the misery of the 20th century by preserving the state and its interwoven powers. However, while Yoshimoto believed that the “consumer society” of the 1980s had provided a solution to this problem, Haniya believed otherwise, and the two fell out. The issue was particularly related to the womens fashion magazine “anan”. While Haniya assumed that state capitalism was still in operation in that magazine, Yoshimoto saw in it the development of private desires that transcended the state and evaluated it highly. Yoshimoto, however, ignored the fact that the development of such private desire itself binds people to social power relations. This paper investigates what issues in postwar thought are still active today by clarifying the limits and possibilities of Yoshimotos and Haniyas thinking.
