주의 효과의 공간적 패턴이 점진적 감소 모형이 규정하는 것과 같은지를 알아보기 위하여 주의 유도점과 선분간 거리의 함수로써 선분 운동 착시가 어떻게 달라지는가를 조사하였다. 주의는 십자형 자극을 회전시킴으로써 유도되었다. 두 개의 선분이 주의 유도점으로부터 서로 다른 거리에 동시에 제시되었을 때에는 주의 유도점과 가까운 선분의 운동 착시가 더 현저한 것으로 보고됨으로써 점진적 감소 모형이 지지되었다. 주의가 공간적으로 떨어진 두 점에 유도되었을 때는 이심률에 따라 두 점 사이에 제시된 선분의 운동 착시 방향이 달리 지각되었다. 두 점의 이심률이 4.5도 이내 일 때는 그 두 점 사이에 제시된 선분이 주의가 유도된 쪽으로 부터 반대편으로 운동하는 것으로 지각되었다. 반면에 4.5˚ 이상일 때는 주의가 유도된 쪽을 향해 선분이 운동하는 것으로 지각됨으로써 주의 효과의 공간적 패턴이 중심-흥분 주변부-억제적 구조일 가능성을 시사하였다. In order to test whether the spatial profile of visual attention is consistent with the predictions of the gradient model. change in the magnitude of line-motion illusion was investigated as a function of the distance between a locus of attention and a taget line. Attention was induced by rotating a cross-shaped stimulus. When two lines located at different distances from the locus of attention were presented at the same time. the line-motion illusion of the nearer one was reported more vivid. which is an evidence supporting the gradient model. When attention was simultaneously induced to two spatially separated spots, the direction of line-motion illusion appeared to change depending on the eccentricity of the spots. While their eccentricity fell within 4.5˚ v.a., a line presented inbetween them was perceived as moving from the attention-induced side. However, it was perceived as moving towards the attention-induced side when the eccentricity fell beyond 4.5˚ , suggesting that the spatial profile of visual attention may have an excitatory-center and inhibitory-surround structure.

HS440, HS590 as an automotive steel sheet, which are used for a structural part in an auto-body, are occasionally exposed in the various temperature environments(about -50℃ ~ 150℃). Therefore, It is required to evaluate the mechanical characteristics(tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, work-hardening exponent etc.) under the low to high temperature environment. In this study, in order to identify the mechanical characteristics of HS440 and HS590, the uniaxial tensile tests are performed with the variation of temperature range from -60℃ to 200℃. Tensile tests carried out using universal testing machine(ZWICK Z250) with installed temperature chamber and acquired stress-strain relation, tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, work hardening exponent at the various temperature conditions. The test results showed that the mechanical properties(strength, elongation etc.) increased in the low temperature(0℃ ~ -60℃) and decreased in the high temperature(50℃ ~ 200℃). Accordingly, It is necessary to evaluate the accurate material properties and has to consider the change of mechanical properties with the variation of temperature for the safety design of an auto-body.

영상기억은 시각기억 처리 과정의 최초 저장 기제로서 오랫동안 이론적인 타당성을 인정받아왔다. 그러나 최근 관심이 대폭 증가한 시각단기기억과 시각장기기억에 비해 영상기억에 대한 연구자들의 관심은 상대적으로 부족했던 것이 사실이다. 이러한 관심의 부족은 영상기억 및 시각지속 현상에 대한 이론 및 방법론적 이해의 결여가 그 원인인 것으로 짐작된다. 본 연구는 영상기억 및 시각지속 현상에 대한 이론적 배경과 경험적 연구 사례를 개관해 영상기억에 대한 상세한 이해를 도모하였다. 더 나아가 영상기억의 타당성에 대한 현상학적, 생태학적 비판들의 핵심 내용들을 토대로 향후 영상기억 연구의 방향을 가늠하는데 목적을 두었다. Since last several decades, iconic memory has been accepted theoretically valid for its role of the first storage mechanism in visual memory process. However, there have been relatively less interests in iconic memory among researchers than their interests in visual short- and long-term memory. Such little interests seem to arise from a lack of detailed understandings of theories and methodologies about iconic memory and visual persistence. This study aimed to achieve the understandings by reviewing theories and empirical studies of iconic memory and visual persistence. The study further discussed future direction of iconic memory research according to the essential aspects of phenomenological and ecological criticisms against the validity of iconic memory.

Morality is one of the references when people judge the world. In two studies we addressed the impact of social distance and mood on moral judgment. Participants judged the people who kill one person to save the many by moral and action appropriateness. In study 1 Social distance was induced in best friends and strangers condition. We hypothesized that judgments rely on deontology depends on social distance. Study 1 showed that same actions in moral dilemmas are judged more severely when the people are more socially distant(strangers). But this effect of social distant was found only judgment of moral appropriateness. Study 2 examined how mood can affect moral judgment. There have been many work investigated the role of mood in determining the kind of cognitive processing. Results from study 2 showed participants in positive mood condition are judged more severely. This difference between positive and negative mood was found only judgment of action appropriateness in contrast with study 1. These results suggested that moral judgment can be affected by social distance and mood. We also found that these factors have selected impact on moral and action appropriateness.
