        A Hybrid Multiuser Detection Algorithm for Outer Space DS-UWB Ad-hoc Network with Strong Narrowband Interference

        Formation flying is an important technology that enables high cost-effective organization of outer space aircrafts. The ad-hoc wireless network based on direct-sequence ultra-wideband (DS-UWB) techniques is seen as an effective means of establishing wireless communication links between aircrafts. In this paper, based on the theory of matched filter and error bits correction, a hybrid detection algorithm is proposed for realizing multiuser detection (MUD) when the DS-UWB technique is used in the ad-hoc wireless network. The matched filter is used to generate a candidate code set which may contain several error bits. The error bits are then recognized and corrected by an novel error-bit corrector, which consists of two steps: code mapping and clustering. In the former step, based on the modified optimum MUD decision function, a novel mapping function is presented that maps the output candidate codes into a feature space for differentiating the right and wrong codes. In the latter step, the codes are clustered into the right and wrong sets by using the K-means clustering approach. Additionally, in order to prevent some right codes being wrongly classified, a sign judgment method is proposed that reduces the bit error rate (BER) of the system. Compared with the traditional detection approaches, e.g., matched filter, minimum mean square error (MMSE) and decorrelation receiver (DEC), the proposed algorithm can considerably improve the BER performance of the system because of its high probability of recognizing wrong codes. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can almost achieve the BER performance of the optimum MUD (OMD). Furthermore, compared with OMD, the proposed algorithm has lower computational complexity, and its BER performance is less sensitive to the number of users.

        Effect of EGR Combined with Intense Tumble Flow on a Well-Calibrated Commercial Turbocharged GDI Engine

        A turbocharged GDI engine with variable intake tumble is used to study the effects of EGRcombined with enhanced tumble on the engine’s economy, power, and emissions characteristics. The effects of EGR with enhanced intake tumble flow, on the combustion phase, combustion duration, knock index and combustion cycle variation of the engine, were studied at two speeds of 1500 r/min and 2000 r/min from low to medium and to full load. The research shows that although the commercial engine has been well calibrated and optimized, the optimization of EGR and enhanced tumble flow together with the optimization of the ignition angle can improve the engine’s economy and emission characteristics, while maintaining relatively fast burning speed and low combustion cycle variation. From medium to heavy load, the economy can be improved by 2.6 ~ 10 %, and the minimum fuel consumption can be reduced to 213 g/kW.h (ƞe = 36.8 %). At the same time, the increase of the combustion cycle variation is controlled within 5 %, but as the load and the EGR ratio increase, the power loss cannot be compensated by the advance of the ignition angle. The 6 ~ 21 % EGR ratio brings 3.5 ~ 9 % power loss.

        Analytical and Experimental Validation of Parasitic Components Influence in SiC MOSFET Three-Phase Grid-connected Inverter

        With the development of renewable energy, grid-connected inverter technology has become an important research area. When compared with traditional silicon IGBT power devices, the silicon carbide (SiC) MOSFET shows obvious advantages in terms of its high-power density, low power loss and high-efficiency power supply system. It is suggested that this technology is highly suitable for three-phase AC motors, renewable energy vehicles, aerospace and military power supplies, etc. This paper focuses on the SiC MOSFET behaviors that concern the parasitic component influence throughout the whole working process, which is based on a three-phase grid-connected inverter. A high-speed model of power switch devices is built and theoretically analyzed. Then the power loss is determined through experimental validation.

        Protective strategy for the caudate lobe bile duct during left hemihepatectomy based on imaging data analysis

        Purpose: This study was performed to analyze the rule of confluence of the caudate lobe bile duct (CLD) into the left hepatic duct (LHD) and to discuss the protective strategy during left hemihepatectomy. Methods: MRI of 400 patients and T-tube angiography images of 100 patients were collected, and the imaging rules of the confluence of the CLD into the LHD were summarized. The clinical data of 33 patients who underwent left hemihepatectomy using the protective strategy were analyzed. Results: MRI and T-tube angiography images showed that the length from the confluence point of the CLD into the LHD to the confluence of the left and right hepatic ducts was 1.19 ± 0.40 cm and 1.26 ± 0.39 cm, respectively. The average angle between the longitudinal axis of the 2 bile ducts was 68.27° ± 22.59° and 66.58 ± 22.88°, respectively. Coronal and cross-sectional images showed that inflow from the foot side to the cranial side was noted in 79.8% and 82.0% of patients, respectively, and inflow from the dorsal to the ventral side was observed in 84.5% and 88.0%, respectively. Based on these imaging rules, the safe transection length and plane were summarized, and the CLD was effectively protected in 33 cases of left hemihepatectomy. Conclusion: In left hemihepatectomy, the LHD should be transected at least 1.5 cm away from the confluence of the left and right hepatic ducts, and the plane of transection should be oblique to the dorsal side at an angle of 45° with the LHD, these parameters represent an effective strategy to protect the CLD.
