This paper presents a new nonsingular fast terminal sliding mode back-stepping control (BSC) for uncertain nonlinear systems subjected to unknown mismatched disturbance based on an adaptive super-twisting sliding mode nonlinear disturbance observer (ASTSM-NDO). The proposed algorithms utilize BSC technique to manage high-order uncertainty systems by compounding the dynamic surface control (DSC) architecture to get rid of ‘complexity explosion’. To cope with the unknown upper-bound mismatched disturbance, an adaption law is devised by finite time stability ASTSM-NDO designation. Besides, in the last step, the actual control scheme is designed by an integral nonsingular fast terminal sliding mode control algorithms combined with disturbance estimation and uncertainty adaption law to eliminate the influence of modeling error and mismatched interference on systems. Lyapunov stability theory is applied to prove that the tracking deviation of the whole system is uniformly and ultimately bounded. Finally, two examples are simulated by comparing the derived outcomes with existing method to verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the devised methodology.

On the basis of conducting a comprehensive investigation to agricultural sightseeing garden landscape resources, we established a evaluation index system of agricultural sightseeing garden landscape resources. From the perspective of experts, comparing the importance of all levels indicators, we obtained the weights of landscape resources evaluation index through using the Analytic Hierarchy Process. The result showed that the descending order of the weights of influence of agricultural sightseeing garden nineteen evaluation index is: reach ability (0.128), safety (0.083), location (0.078), participatory (0.076), cultural value (0.058), ecological conditions (0.057), scenic beauty (0.0505), environmental quality (0.051), featured properties (0.0501), environmental tolerance (0.048), reputation (0.047), environmental capacity (0.045), humanize (0.041), spots configuration (0.034), applicable travel period (0.033), scientific value (0.032), art value (0.031), holistic (0.03), suitability (0.027), it can provide a framework and basis for the planning, management, protection and exploitation of agricultural sightseeing garden landscape resources.

HMGB1 is associated with human cancers and is an activator of autophagy which mediates chemotherapy resistance. We here show that the mRNA levels of HMGB1 are high in leukemia cells and it is involved in the progression of childhood chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). HMGB1 decreases the sensitivity of human myeloid leukemia cells K562 to anti-cancer drug induced death through up-regulating the autophagy pathway, which is confirmed by the observation with an increase in fusion of autophagosomes and autophagolysosomes. When overexpressing HMGB1, both mRNA levels of Beclin-1, VSP34 and UVRAG which are key genes involved in mammalian autophagy and protein levels of p-Bcl-2 and LC3-II are increased. Luciferase assays document that over-expression of HMGB1 increases the transcriptional activity of JNK and ERK, which may be silenced by siRNA. The results suggest that HMGB1 regulates JNK and ERK required for autophagy, which provides a potential drug target for therapeutic interventions in childhood CML. [BMB reports 2011; 44(9): 601-606]
