Synergistic Enhancement of the Strength-Ductility for Stir Casting SiCp/2024Al Composites by Two-Step Deformation

        Fu‑xiang Cao,Kun‑kun Deng,Cui‑ju Wang,Kai‑bo Nie,Wei Liang,Jian‑feng Fan 대한금속·재료학회 2021 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.27 No.12

The 10 μm 10 vol% SiCp/2024Al composites sheet was successfully fabricated by semi-solid stir casting followed withtwo-step deformation (extrusion and rolling). The two-step thermal deformation solves the sheet rolling formability of theSiCp/2024Al composites produced by stir casting. Compared with the SiCp/2024Al composites prepared by traditional powdermetallurgy, this paper innovatively studied the synergistic enhancement between CuAl2phase and SiCpon the mechanicalproperties. The result shows that the two-step deformation can significantly improve the uniformity of the distribution of SiCpand CuAl2phases. At the same time, the average size of the SiCpand CuAl2phase decreases after the two-step deformation. During the hot extrusion, SiCphas an obvious hindrance to the refinement of the CuAl2phase. Moreover, the SiCp/2024Alcomposites sheet exhibits excellent yield strength (295 MPa), ultimate tensile strength (489 MPa), and elongation (10.42%). The performance improvement of SiCp/2024Al after two-step thermal deformation is mainly attributed to the improvedinterface bonding strength of SiCp-2024 Al matrix, the refined SiCpand the more uniform distribution of SiCp.

      • Local conversion of four Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen photon pairs into four-photon polarization-entangled decoherence-free states with non-photon-number-resolving detectors.

        Wang, Hong-Fu,Zhang, Shou,Zhu, Ai-Dong,Yi, X X,Yeon, Kyu-Hwang Optical Society of America 2011 Optics express Vol.19 No.25

We propose a linear-optics-based scheme for local conversion of four Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen photon pairs distributed among five parties into four-photon polarization-entangled decoherence-free states using local operations and classical communication. The proposed setup involves simple linear optical elements and non-photon-number-resolving detectors that can only distinguish between the presence and absence of photons, and no information on the exact number of photons can be obtained. This greatly simplifies the experimental realization for linear optical quantum computation and quantum information processing.

A Novel Leader-following Consensus of Multi-agent Systems with Smart Leader

        Fu-Yong Wang,Zhong-Xin Liu,Zengqiang Chen 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2018 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.16 No.4

This article studies the leader-following consensus problem for mixed-order multi-agent systems with a leader. Different from the traditional leader which is independent of all the other agents, the leader, called smart leader, can obtain and utilize the feedback information from its neighbors at some disconnected time intervals. A new distributed consensus control protocol based on intermittent control is developed for leader-following consensus with a smart leader. Moreover, the smart leader can adjust the control protocol based on the feedback information from its neighbors. With the aid of Lyapunov function, some sufficient conditions are derived for leader-following consensus of multi-agent systems with mixed-order dynamics under fixed directed topology. In addition, the similar results are obtained under switching directed topology. Finally, simulation results are provided to verify the correctness and effectiveness of theoretical results.

      • Helicobacter pylori and Pancreatic Cancer Risk: a Meta-analysis Based on 2,049 Cases and 2,861 Controls

Wang, Yin,Zhang, Fu-Cheng,Wang, Yao-Jun Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.11

Aim: Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) have been considered as a risk factor for many cancers. We conducted this meta-analysis to clarify the association between H. pylori infection and the risk of pancreatic cancer. Methods: We searched the Medicine/Pubmed and Embase databases, studies about the association between H. pylori infection and pancreatic cancer published up to Jan.2014 were included. Finally, a total of 9 studies were used for this a meta-analysis. The odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence interval (95%CI) of H. pylori infection on pancreatic cancer with respect to control groups were evaluated. Two authors independently assessed the methodological quality and extracted data. This meta-analysis was conducted using software, state (version 12.0) to investigate heterogeneity among individual studies and to summarize the studies. Using the fixed-effects or random-effects model, depending on the absence or presence of significant heterogeneity. Sensitivity analysis was performed to assess the influence of each individual study on the pooled ORs by omitting a single study each time. Publication bias was evaluated by funnel plot, using Egger's and Begg's tests. Results: There was no significant association between H. pylori infection and pancreatic cancer risk in the summary ORs,(OR=1.06, 95%CI: 0.74-1.37) through the random-effect method, but heterogeneity among studies was significant ($I^2$=58.9%), so we put the studies into two subgraphs (eastern and western). The results about western (OR=1.14 95%CI:0.89, 1.40) showed heterogeneity among the western countries of $I^2$=6.6%, with no significant association between Hp+ and pancreatic cancer, but the eastern countries (OR=0.62, 95%CI:0.49, 0.76), $I^2$=0, suggested that decreasing pancreas-cancer risk in subjects with Hp+ infection. Simultaneously, 7 studies examined CagA+ strains was (OR=0.84 95%CI:0.63, 1.04), $I^2$=36% with the random-effect method, subgraphs indicated that CagA+ could decrease the risk of pancreatic cancer in the eastern subjects (OR=0.66, 95%CI:0.52-0.80), but the association was not statistically significant in the western subjects (OR=0.95, 95%CI:0.73, 1.16). Conclusion: Hp+ and CagA+ infection are associated with a decreased risk of pancreatic cancer in eastern populations but have no significant associations in western countries.

Position Sensorless Control of BLDC Motors Based on Global Fast Terminal Sliding Mode Observer

Wang, Xiaoyuan,Fu, Tao,Wang, Xiaoguang The Korean Institute of Power Electronics 2015 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.15 No.6

The brushless DC motor (BLDCM) has many advantages. As a result, it is widely used in electric vehicle (EV) drive systems. To improve the reliability of the motor control system, a position sensorless control strategy based on a sliding mode observer (SMO) is proposed. The global fast terminal sliding mode observer (GFTSMO) is proposed to enhance the control performance of the SMO control system. The advantages of the linear sliding mode and the nonsingular terminal sliding mode (NTSM) are combined in the control strategy. The convergence speed of the system state is enhanced. The motor commutation point is obtained with the observation of the back EMF, and the instantaneous torque value of the motor is calculated. Therefore, the position sensorless control of the BLDCM is realized. Experimental results show that the proposed control strategy can improve the convergence speed, dynamic characteristics and robustness of the system.

Effect on tower crane structural vibration under the lifting-luffing coupling condition

        Fu Liu,Jianwei Yang,Jinhai Wang,Changdong Liu,Xiaohui Wang 대한기계학회 2023 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.37 No.10

The present research aims to investigate parametrically the structural vibration analysis of tower crane under the lifting-luffing coupling condition. Structural vibration greatly affects tower crane stability. The structural dynamics of a crane should be considered for studying motion behavior and vibration feature. The dynamic model of the tower crane is presented based on air resistance, boom deflection, and Lagrange equation under the lifting-luffing coupling condition. The vibration model of the tower crane was validated by an experiment. The experiment was conducted with an accelerating speed until reaching the constant speed and then with decelerating speed. This study analyses structural parameters to acquire the dynamic characteristics and vibration features of the tower crane under the compound working condition. The vibration responses of the mast and the boom are studied with frequency- and timedomain indicators. Results show that payload mass, luffing acceleration, boom length, mast height, and girder length significantly influence the mast vibration. In comparison, payload mass, trolley acceleration, and boom length affect the boom vibration. This research can improve the design of a dynamic system for tower crane safety.
