An Ontology Based Approach on Secure-Tolerant SOAP Messages
Vol.38 No.2C
The WS-Security family of security standards are widely utilized aiming at securing exchanges of SOAP messages among partners in a collaborative environment. Although such standards are suitable for ensuring end-to-end message level security, certain attacks such as XML Rewriting Attack may still occur and lead to significant security vulnerabilities. In this paper we propose ontology based approach on secure-tolerant SOAP message that can successfully combat with the security threats. We develop ontology-based schema to include a structure information of outgoing SOAP message and validate this information in the receiving end. Thus, allow to detect XML rewriting attacks early in the validating process. Also in this paper we propose a recover mechanism in which all modifications on SOAP message are written to a log before they are applied. If some security failure on SOAP message occurs, program could check this log and recover from effects of a successful execution.

Web services provide the possibility of dynamically integrating distributed service components scattered over the Internet to fulfill sophisticated business demands. However due to today’s wide variety of services offered to perform a specific task, it’s essential that users are supported in the eventual selection of appropriate services. An example of web services for which selection of appropriate service will be crucial is Auto Repair Services. Since, working quality of Auto Repair Services tightly depends on Auto Part Shops, selecting proper service from a variety of Auto Part Shops would be result of delivering high-quality service and minimizing Auto Repair Service customer’s waiting time. In this research to assist selecting proper service, we present ontology-based Functional-Level Mediator and illustrate its usage in matching customer’s and web service’s goals. Five matching cases have been analyzed and results from experiment have been shown. Also, by constructing composition of Multi-web services for the purchase order management scenario of Auto parts through the BPEL, we have significantly minimized customer’s waiting time at Auto Repair Service.
App Recommendation System Based on Collaborative Filtering
Vol.20 No.2
It gives to users a difficulty for searching between this huge numbers of programs. Searching the best applications for our needs is a big challenge today. In this paper, we propose a study on collaborative filtering based app recommendation system. The proposed method is composed of three steps. In the first step, we extract the data set from the target website. In the second step, we parse the extracted raw data according to the types, and store in a database. In the third, we perform recommendations based on the stored data in database
A Study on Comparison Analysis of Collaborative Filtering in Java and R
Vol.20 No.2
The mobile application market has been growing extensively in recent years. Currently, Apple's App Store has more than 400,000 applications and Google's Android Market has above 150,000 applications. Such growth in volumes of mobile applications has created a need to develop a recommender system that assists the users to take the right choice, when searching for a mobile application. In this paper, we study the recommendation system building tools based on collaborative filtering. Specifically, we present a study on comparison analysis of collaborative filtering in Java and R statistical software. We implement the collaborative filtering using Java’s Apache Mahout and R’s recommenderlab package. We evaluate both methods and describe the advantages and disadvantages of using them in order to implement collaborative filtering.
A Study on Recommendation Methods in Web Services: Existing Solutions and Their Limitations
Vol.21 No.1
Due to Web Services’ platform and language independent nature, many business corporations have used them for the integration of various applications. However, the growing amount of available Web Services on Web forms a new problem - how to select and recommend an appropriate Web Service that matches the user requirements. In this paper, we investigate recommendation methods in Web Services, and discuss their strength and limitations.
A Study on Exploring Web Services Issues and Their Solutions
Vol.19 No.2
Web Services are considered to be a promising technology to add a new level of functionality to the existing World Wide Web. However, despite the growing use of Web Services by many organizations, there are several issues that are slowing their deployment such as service discovery, recovery from faults and security. In this paper, we give a detailed overview of issues surrounding Web Services, discuss existing solutions and describe their limitations.

Web Services have been used in a variety of applications and have become a key technology in developing business operations on the Web. However, despite the growing use of Web Services by large corporations, security is still a major concern that is slowing their deployment. In this paper, we give an overview of security vulnerabilities, review the existing solutions, and show their limitations.
A Proper Selection of Web Service using Semantic Mediation
Vol.36 No.2D
Since the amount of available Web Services keeps growing and thus the problem occurs - how to find an appropriate web service matching the requirements amongst the vast majority of available. Higher quality of service means a better match to customer's request requirements and thus becomes determinant in success of e-commerce initiatives that rely on utilizing multiple web services to meet customer needs. This allows to conclude that a proper service selection mechanism is needed that matches the user’s requirement In this research to assist proper service selection we developed semantic mediation by semantically describing customer’s goals and provider’s web service capability by means of carefully designed ontologies and logical expressions. We will illustrate matching cases of customer’s requirements and web services capabilities.
