조직의 비즈니스 프로세스 효율성을 향상시키기 위해 IT 기술의 활용은 매우 중요하게 되었다. 조직의 비즈니스 프로세스 효율성을 향상시키기 위해, IT 기술의 활용뿐만 아니라, 체계적인 IT 관리와 구조가 요구된다. IT 거버넌스는 IT의 가치를 최대화하고 관련된 위험을 최소화하기 위해 조직이 IT 정보를 제어하고 각 비즈니스가 가지는 목표와 IT 정보기술을 연결할 수 있도록 한다. 사례로 적용된 인도네시아 국제 여자 대학교는 정보 기술이 적용된 비즈니스 프로세스를 지원하지만, 비즈니스 프로세스와 관련된 정보 시스템을 구현할 때 다양한 문제들이 발생되었다. 이 대학은 대학에서 소유한 정보기술 자원의 효율성을 최대화시킬 수 없었으며, IT 시스템 내의 대학 경영 정책은 불일치하였으며 정보 시스템에 대한 평가도 이루어지지 않았다. 이 대학은 IT 거버넌스를 구현하기 위한 가이드라인이 없었기 때문에, IT 정보 시스템의 제어와 모니터링은 거의 이루어질 수 없었다. IT 거버넌스 문제에 대한 잠재적인 해결책과 정보시스템의 평가 도구로 COBIT 4.1 프레임워크를 사용한다. COBIT 4.1을 사용하여 IT 거버넌스 평가를 할 때, “IT 목표 식별하기”, “IT 프로세스 식별하기”, “제어 목표 식별하기”, “성숙도 레벨 평가하기” 단계를 따른다. COBIT 4.1의 평가 결과로 국제 여자 대학교에서는 10개의 IT 프로세스가 발견되었다. 성숙도 레벨은 레벨 2 반복이지만, 예측되는 성숙도는 레벨 3 정의이다. 국제여자 대학교는 IT 거버넌스를 더 잘 하기 위해, 내부 통제에 좀 더 많은 관심을 기울여야 한다. The utilization of IT has become an important need for the organization because it can help the organization to improve the effectiveness of business processes of the organization. In addition to this, good IT management and structure are required so that IT will be able to support organization in the achievement of its objectives. IT governance can help the organization to control IT and link it with business objectives while maximizing the value of IT and minimizing the associated risks. International Women University is an university whose business process is supported by IT. But some problem were found in implementing information systems. The university is still not able to maximize their IT resources that they have. Inconsistency management policy of the university in IT system and evaluation of information system has not been done. Poor controlling and monitoring of the IT system of the university because the university does not have guidelines for the implementation of IT governance. COBIT 4.1 frameworks will be used to make an evaluation and give the recommendation of a potential solution for IT governance problem. There are 4 stages in evaluation IT governance using COBIT 4.1 as follows: identification IT goals, identification IT process, identification control objectives, and assessing maturity level. The result show that only 10 IT processes were initialized in International Women University and the current maturity level is at level 2 Repeatable but Intuitive and for expected maturity level is at level 3 defined. Management of International Women University must give more attention to internal control so will be able to create information technology governance better.
