The goal of this study exists in the investigation of creativity enhancement by the application of a science education program for preschoolers. In order to reach the goal of this study, the development of the science education program was focused on, and then the developed program was tested on seven-year old children selected as an experimental group for six months. The subjects of this test were 42 seven--year old children as an experimental group selected from one of kindergartens named C which is located in the area of middle-class people residence, and 43 children as a comparison group of one of same leveled kindergartens named M located in same area. A pretest was performed so as to confirm any difference in creativity between two children groups. (The result was confirmed that there was no statistically significant difference)
Experimental group was trained by creativity enhancement through the self developed science education program once or twice a week, while comparison group was not.
The developed program was consisted of 20 large themes by natural phenomena and was classified into 180 subgroups by several factor in stages on the basis of hands-on experiments using scientific experimental tools, its related picture-cards, computer cyber-experiments and games, scientific illustrated fairy tales and CD Rom titles. Teaching materials were composed of experimental procedures and report papers, and were made up of children texts, teachers manual, teaching method and also thinking introduction discovery method for creativity enhancement were applied, In addition activity report Was used for systematic learning of science knowledges and concepts by doing activity by introductory discovery teaching method with the procedures of problem raising, estimation, invention of test method, application, making-conclusion by result analysis, introduction of another domain related actual life and thinking of action afterwards.
On the other side teacher was well trained as a guide and a communicator of the scientific concept and theory by means of teaching manual of planning and evaluation.
The creativity enhancement effect was tested again by already prepared test paper in pre-test and post-test between experimental group and comparison group after activity and the obtained data was analysed using SAS statistic program.
The major view point of this study was as follows;
1. How can the science education program for children be constructed?
2. Will this science education program affect preschoolers' total creativity enhancement and its related factors.
The conclusion of this study was summerized as follows.
Firstly, the science education program developed was proved to be effective in the creativity enhancement of children. The experimental group made considerable higher scores over significant level statistically in all test domains while the comparison group made no differences.
Secondly, the science education program affected the childrens' creativity enhancement through the introduction of internal motivation. It can be implied that the creative thinking method by means of the learning of basic theory and concept in science is effective for the preschoolers.
