A public concern about unemployed youth is getting more and more increasing while slowdowning of economic growth at present. If the youth unemployment last, it has a bad influence on the economic growth in a long period.
Job-Searching Behavior has its significance in that it can reduce economical and emotional burden on unemployed people and their family and it can also be an indication of possible reemployment. Therefore, this research focus on unemployed youth's Job-Searching Behavior in connection with the youth unemployment that it can be a serious social problem.
Dependency variable of this research is Job-Searching Behavior. Independency variables are general factors, unemployment factor, psychological factor, repre- sentative unemployment policy for youth.
To rearch the aim of this study indicated above, this research analyses the relations between the Job-Searching Behavior and gender, academic backgrounds, unemployment duration, job-search self-efficacy, occupation training, youth's job-experience program by administration support.
For practical analysis, survey was carried out at the 3 Employment Security Centers in Seoul, which control over 5 district of Seoul. The population in this investigation is 15 to 29 years old unemployed youth. The measurement of Job-Searching Behavior is past 2 weeks at this point of time answering the Q&A. A total of 153 cases were involved in the practical analysis. This result was analyzed by Cronbach alpha, Descriptive Statistic, T-test, ANOVA, Crosstabs, Correlation, Bivariate Regression, Multiple Regression using SPSSWIN 10.0.
The following is a brief summary of the Research result.
First, Job-Searching behavior of unemployed youth produced 2.6525 marks on the average, and it is middle of the level. Look in detail, seeking through the internet amoung the variety Job-Searching behavior is the most high level. Because of decreasing employment, job interview behavior in direct showed 2.130 at the lowest marks.
Second, the rate of the femail is 52.9 percentage and it is a little higher through the investigated people. Academic backgrounds is college, highschool, university, graduate school in order. The percentage of the school dropout is 11.8 marks due to depression of economic. One month through six month is the most high level amoung unemployment period. The average of job-search self-efficacy showed 3.1716 of the 5 full marks. The rate of occupation training, and youth's job-experience program by administration support is each 22.2 persentage, 16.9 persentage.
Thirdly, relations between the Job-Searching behavior and Independency variables are found. According to variables, the highest relation with Job-Searching behavior is job-search self-efficacy. Youth's job-experience program by administration support, occupation training, unemployment period showed their relations with the Job-Searching behavior in regular sequence.
Lastly, the result of Regression Analyses of Job-Searching behavior and each variables, job-search self-efficacy, occupation training, and youth's job-experience program by administration support are variables that affected Job-Searching behavior.
As you can see from the above, in order to help to raise and to continue Job-Searching behavior, we need to intervene in early time, and decrease psychological shrinkage, and offer environment with variety information, and obtain self-confidence about searching job, and expand that participate occupation training, and youth's job-experience program by administration support.
