This study was designed to investigate the effects of home reading guidance though lending library program on young children's reading attitude and reading interest. For these purpose, the following specific research question were set up and addressed:
1. what is the effects of Home Reading Guidance Through Lending Library program on young children's reading attitude?
2. what is the effect of Home Reading Guidance Through Lending Library Program on young children's reading interest?
The subjects of this study were 38 five-year-old children of A kindergarten in Mir-Yang City. The children were divided into experimental and control groups randomly.
The date were collected using the Attitude Test of Saracho(1988) and the test of young children's reading of Askov(1973).
The lending library program was administered 15 time in total using 300 books. The books were selected based on the recommendations of the professionals and the themes of curriculum and consisted of various genres in young children's literature. Frontal book shelves were used for children to see book titles and covers easily.
The data were analysed by M, SD, and t-test with the SPSS/WIN 10.0 program.
Finding of this study were as follows
First, The Home Reading Guidance Through Lending Library Program improved the young children's reading attitude significantly.
second, The Home Reading Guidance Though Lending Library Program improved the young children's reading interest significantly.
