신문활용교육(NIE)이 유아의 어휘력증진에 미치는 영향 = (The) influence of newspaper in education(NIE) on infant's ability to improve and enhance vocabularies

국문 초록 (Abstract)

언어발달의 결정적인 시기인 유아기에 언어능력을 신장시키기 위한 언어교육은 매우 중요하다. 이에 본 연구는 신문을 유아교육 현장에 활용하여 신문을 활용한 언어교육이 유아의 어휘력 향상에 미치는 효과를 확인해 보고자 하는데 목적이 있다.
본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 다음과 같은 연구 문제를 설정하였다.
1) 신문활용교육은 유아의 어휘력 향상에 효과가 있는가?
2) 신문활용교육은 유아의 언어 이해 및 인지력 향상에 효과가 있는가?
이러한 연구 목적을 해결하기 위하여 유아교육기관의 만 5세아 유아25명을 실험 연구하였다. 사전·사후 실험설계 방법을 사용하여 실험집단은 신문활용교육 프로그램을 실시하였고 통제집단은 일상적인 수업활동을 하였다. 실험처치 기간은 3월 31일부터 5월 17일까지 주 3회 21회의 신문활용교육 프로그램이 본 연구자에 의해 실시되었다.
수집된 자료는 SPSS-PC^(+) 통계 프로그램을 사용하여 공변량 분석을 실시하였다.
본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 신문활용교육은 유아의 어휘력 향상에 효과가 있음을 나타내었다. 따라서 신문활용교육 유아의 어휘력을 향상시키기 위한 효과적인 교수방법이라 할 수 있다.
둘째, 신문활용교육은 언어 이해 및 인지력 향상에도 효과가 있음을 나타내었다. 통계적으로 신문활용교육은 언어 이해 및 인지력 향상에도 유의미한 영향을 미친다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The language education to improve and enhance infant's language abilities like vocabularies, words, phrases, or sentences is very important in the infancy which their language development is fixed on. So the purpose of this study is to examine how Newspaper in Education(NIE) influences on infant's ability to improve and enhance vocabularies and words in their language development by applying various newspapers in the practical education fields.
To achieve this purpose, the following questions were selected.
1) How and what does NIE influence on infant's ability to improve and enhance vocabularies and words in the language development?
2) How and what does NIE influence on their improvement in understanding and perception of language like vocabularies or words in the language development?
To investigate and testify this purpose as well as these questions, 25 infants under a full five years being cared for in Infant Education Institution were selected as the subjects in this experimental research. Two groups were divided into the experimental group for NIE program and the controlled group for general education program. NIE program experiments were carried out 21 times for seven weeks from March, 31 to May, 17.
The collected experiment data were processed by SPSS-PC^(+) statistical program, and the results of this study are as follows.
First, NIE had a great influence upon infant's ability to improve and enhance vocabularies or words in their language development.
Therefore, NIE can be the very efficient method to improve and enhance their language faculties as vocabularies and words.
Second, NIE had a crucial effect on infant's improvement in understanding and perception of language as vocabularies or words and so on. Therefore, it proved that NIE have a meaningful positive effect on their improvement in understanding and perception of language.
