    A. The Purpose of Study
    The Purpose of this study is to investigate the factors determining entrance into universities of high school students in order to suggest teachers the basic dara for the career guidance. The concrete purpose of this study is as follows;
    First, the study will be research into the factors determining entrance into universities of 2nd~3rd grade students in high school.
    Second, the study will have the analysis of the factors determining entrance into universities.
    Third, there will be provided with informations of systematic career guidance for students in high schools.
    B. The Method of Study
    To carry out above study purpose, Investigator produced 4area 25 questionnaires, chose the random sampling of students in academin high school in Chung Buk province and analyzed the survey of 434 sample students made of 227 boys and 207 girls randomly chosen.
    Processing of this study material verified low rank Byeoninbyeol difference through crossing analysis using SPSS/PC+ that is human knowledge social science figure package by each questionnaire.
    C. The following conclusion was made in this study.
    First, it appeared that the propensity to individualism about the future life was very high and their academic career had no relation with the scholastic ability as a graduate or person who would lead the society in the future.
    Second, it is proved that the end of university and college entrance is to improve positions and the most important thing when they would go on to university was the possibility of success in exam and to decide the special field.
    Third, we became to know that the university with a high reputation turned out to be accounted a lot by analyzing turned out to be the future prospect about going on to university and despite proparing for the entrance exam after leaving high school, the students in the area of city would have a higher tendency to enter a distinguished university than the ones in the area of 'myon' and 'towm'.
    Fourth, it appeared that the students were very worried about deciding which department to choose in the university because of their low grades, especially the possible working prospect after graduation by choosing a department was accounted more than their aptitudes or interests in the departments of universities. And the boy students tended to make an earlier decision than the girl students at the period of deciding which department or university to choose.
    Fifth, the boy students had more interests in academic concerns and aptitudes than the girl students did.
    Six, according to the research, the students belonging to the department of liberal arts would like business administration better than anything else, on the contrary, the students belonging to the department of science would like a college of medicine or pharmacy better than any other department of college.
    And seventh, the research showed that the students would get information on choice of college through many kinds of channels, that is, the boy students tended to get information by many sorts of guide books on choice of college while the girl students would get information through mass media. It appeared that the levels of information were not so good as the students would expected.
