북한여성의 정치·경제생활 연구 = (A) Study on the Women's Lives in aspects of Politics and Economics in North Korea

In this thesis, it is contemplated the rights and the roles of women in political and economic lives and the condition of participating centering the law and the policy related to women. So, the Purpose of this thesis if to grasp the status of women in North to contribute for the establishment of the expanding systems in preparing the unification the North and South Korea.
Therefore in this, first, examines the processing how to expand the rights and the composition of the policy of women in the socialistic situation of North, and later, studies the position of women subdividing into politics and economics in life.
First it is considering the position of women in aspects of politics. Now it is presenting the high rates of women's participation over the 20 percents, on the basis on the 12.1 percents election rates of women as a member of the National Assembly, according to the provision of the women suffrage by the law of the equal rights of North August in 1948. The women's participation rates above is the basis on that of the most state socialism past that is impossible to establish the new state socialism without participation of women in politics and is supported. But in North, the women statesmen aren't concerned in the problem of women especially and the system of expanding to the high official as women is feeble. But 'The Democratic Alliance of Women' appeals its political power of women. So considering the roles and the priorities of 'The Democratic Alliance of Women' is more important than considering the rates of participation in state affairs in North when argue the status of women in political life.
Next, it is considering the status of women in aspects of economics.
North Korea is basis on the socialistic manufacturing system and the self-support national system. The establishment to the socialism and the nationalization of the manufacturing system makes women as the labor class. So woman in North has the same duty and right to labor as the same as the man. For this. the government founds the public nursery and bringing up the children, separates the labors and the domestic duties systematically. and protects motherhood. So women can labor equally through the protection of the law.
But, in spites of this legal security and the policy, the labor conditions of women are not equal. Under the system of socialism, the purpose of the labor of women is the labor mobilization, but the role of women in society is recognized as important. For this, the policy should make harmony with economic life and domestic duties. Also, by the Participating of women in labor, women's economical independence is contributed to obtain the equal position and the equality of the genders and it can be acquired more rapidly than we experienced.
In this thesis, for 50 years in condition of the division of the Korean Peninsula. it is founded the political system and it was brought the differences in the women's lives. According to this, the understanding the conditions of woman's life in North Korea and the restoration of the national equality are very important to interchange and the unification of North and South Korea. And for the realization of the equality between men and women, the policy can induce the participation of women in various fields and the changes. The unification which we wish is not simple but for the better lives that the society secure the development.
And in Korea, for preparing the unification, it is necessary to understand and recognize of the policy of women in North. From now on, through the continuous studies, it is tried to establishment of the system which is related to women and raise the status of women.
