This study is designed to look into, make an analysis of and compare the features of physical self-conception between the exercise group of students with cerebral palsy and the non-exercise group of students with cerebral palsy, to shed light on the relative effectiveness of exercise performance, to determine the relationship between the physical self-conception of the former and that of the latter and to present materials necessary for appropriate educational activities. With this in mind, the researcher regarded as the population of this research students suffering from cerebral palsy who attended middle and high schools of special education across the nation as of September, 2003. The researcher worked with 101 students who had taken part in the national cerebral pals BOCCIA contest and participated in regular exercise more than twice a week and 80 students who had not done any exercise. The researcher came to the following conclusions with the help of SPSS 10.1b conducting one-way ANOVA and correlation analysis of 181 questionnaires.
1) The female subjects turned out to be more positive in terms of physical activity conception and self esteem conception than the male subjects.
2) The students with congenital cerebral palsy turned out to be more positive toward appearance conception, global physical conception aspects and health conception than the students with acquired cerebral palsy. The latter turned out to have more body fat conception than the former.
3) In case of convulsions, the subjects turned out to be most positive toward eight subordinate factors.
4) In case of being graded 3 or above, the subjects turned out to be most positive toward sports competence conception, endurance conception, physical activity conception, health conception and appearance conception. On the other hand, those who graded 1 turned out to be most positive toward self esteem conception.
5) In case of no walking tools, the subjects turned out to have the most positive thought toward endurance conception, appearance conception and health conception.
6) In case of haying done exercise for one to five years, the subjects turned out to form the most positive opinions on sports competence conception, endurance conception, physical activity conception and appearance conception.
7) The exercise group turned out to have more positive opinions toward 7 subordinate factors except endurance conception than non-exercise group.
8) The survey shows that the exercise group had higher correlations among eight subordinate factors than the non-exercise group and that the former had the most powerful correlation in sports performance and physical activity conception and that the latter had the most powerful correlation in endurance-physical activity conception.
