다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In order to find the associated factors with the utilization of the University Health Center by the students, a questionnaire survey was made during April 1997. Number of students surveyed was 1,754 selected among 18,153 total students registered as of April 1, 1997 by convenience sampling as unit of class.
The results analyzed from the data were as follows :
1. Among the study population, 1,019(58.1%) were male and 736(41.9%) were female. 469 freshmen(26.7%), 611 sophomores(34.8%), 363 juniors(20.7%) and 311 seniors(17.9%) were studied. 364 students(20.8%) reported to have acute diseases or health problems for the past two weeks and 214 students(l2.2%) reported to have chronic diseases or health problems at time of survey. 254 students(l4.7%) reported that they were suffering from some illness during school time for the past two weeks prior to the survey.
2. The utilization rate of school health center for the past one month prior to the survey was 10.6%(186 students among 1,754 population).
The rates by the purpose of utilization at school health center were 6.2% for general medical care, 3.1% for dental care, 1.7% for health counselling, 1.8% for vaccination and 2.0% for health check-up.
3. By the logistic regression statistically significant variables selected as the associated factors with the utilization of school health center were school year, the perception of sickness during school time, registration at the school medical insurance and recognition on the lund environment and the service quality of school health center compared with other clinics.
In conclusion the utilization rate of school health center by the students were dependent upon the need to use health center, the financing mechanism for medical expense, familiarity with school health service system and recognition on the quality of school health center. So for more utilization of school health center, above factors must be considered.
