The objective of this study is to analyze "the Effect of the Rhythmic Activity on the Body Expression Ability."
In order to achieve this objective, The following assumptions were set. <hypothesis I> There is a significant difference between the infants who experience "the Rhythmic Activity Program and the infants who experience "the Traditional Rhythmic Activity" on the effect of the development of recognizing the Body Expression Ability by the Rhythmic Activity.
<hypothesis 2> There is a significant difference between the infants who experience "the Rhythmic Activity Program and the infants who experience "the Traditional Rhythmic Activity" on the effect of the development of "the Rhythmic Activity Expression Ability by the Rhythmic Activity"
The population surveyed in this study is 42 kindergarten members of H Kindergarten and K Kindergarten located in Jeon Ju. They were divided into two categories, Experimental Group(21 members) and Comparison Group(21 members). And the data of 40 members were applied to the final statistic analysis except 2 members who were dismissed in the test.
The tools of the study are the basic activity ability test, body expression development ability test, and rhythmic activity ability test used by Kim Hae Ok(1985). 'The contents of the Rhythmic Activity' used the Data Rhythmic Activity Ⅱ published by Korean infants education association, and the data was analyzed, using the Data Rhythmic Activity for the Infants published by Lee Oun Hwa and Lee Sun Le(1997) and the Ministry of Education. The analysis measured mean and standard deviation of the each group's prior and post test, and tested the significance using variation analysis through t-test.
On the result of the test, the score of the experimental group in the post test increased 0.3 compared with comparison group in the hypothesis 1, and the score of the experimental group in the post test increased 0.52 compared with comparison group in the Assumption 2. However, the difference between the two assumptions showed the significant level p=0.0 statistically.
The conclusions of this study are as follows:
First, the application of the rhythmic activity program influenced the development of the infant's body expression activity.
Second, the application of the rhythmic activity influenced the development of the infant's rhythmic activity.
In this study, it suggests following based on the results of the study. Suggestion 1 : More studies about how the rhythmic activity programs for the infants and the development of the rhythmic activity ability influence the development of the body expression activity are demanded.
Suggestion 2 : The following studies are required because the transferring causes of the basic activity ability is possible for 3 to 5 year infants though it used the experimental group of 4-year infants as a population.
Suggestion 3 : Considering the fact that there is no unique form in the body expression activity(Mayesky, 1995)' united effort that considers infant's characteristics fully and puts emphasis on basic activity for the development of the infant's rhythmic activity and body expression ability is needed.
