The purpose of this research is to investigate difference of educational beliefs between entry level students and exit level students, who major in Early Childhood Education.
In addition, this research is comparing junior college students with university-students in their educational beliefs.
The major research problems are as follows:
1. Is there significant difference of educational beliefs(behaviorism, maturationism, interactionism) between entry level students and exit level students at early childhood education in the junior college?
2. Is there significant difference of educational beliefs(behaviorism, maturationism, interactionism) between entry level students and exit level students at early childhood education in the university?
3. Is there significant difference of educational beliefs(behaviorism, maturationism, interactionism) between junior college students and university- students at early childhood education?
The subjects of this research were 369 preservice teachers who were majoring in early childhood education at two junior colleges and two universities in Daegu Metro city and Kyoungsan city.
Beliefs Test Inventory by Moon, Mi-ok(1993), which is modified 6 to 5 step rating criteria to be suitable for this research are used as an measuring instrument.
The data were analyzed by NANOVA(Multivariate Analysis of Varinace)
The major findings were as follow:
1. There was significant difference of educational beliefs between entry level students and exit level students at early child education in the junior college. That is to say , entry level students had higher score than exit level students on behaviorism. However, There were no difference on maturationism and interactionism between entry level students and exit level students in junior college students.
2. There was significant difference of educational beliefs between entry level students and exit level students at early child education in the university. That is to say , entry level students had higher score than exit level students on behaviorism and exit level students had higher score than entry level students on interactionism. However, There was no difference on maturationism between entry level students and exit level students in university students.
3. There was significant difference of educational beliefs between junior college-students and university-students at early child education. That is to say , junior college-students had higher score than university-students on behaviorism and university-students had higher score than junior college-students on interactionism. However, There was no difference on maturationism between junior college-students and university-students.
