The purpose of this research is to examine the pattern of a child's academic self concept, according to the parent's achievement pressure perceived by a child and the learning attitude, through experimental analysis. Furthermore, to foster it toward desirable way, have a positive effect on a child's educational direction.
The materials of research analysis are based on the survey (511pieces) corrected by sampling in advance the male and female children in 14 classes of 5,6th grade in D and H elementary school in Po-hang city as research object.
The used designation method are a parent's achievement pressure test by Kim, Gi-Jeong(1984)& Yun, Young-Seob(1988), and the learning attitude test by the Korean education development house(1985), and academic self concept test by Song, In-Seob(1982).
The data were analyzed by MANOVA (Multivariate Analysis of Variance)
The major findings were as follows :
1. When a parent's achievement pressure upon his child is higher than other parent's on their children, the child's academic self concept is higher.
2. There is no difference in a child's academic self concept based on the child's attitude towards his teachers.
But a child's academic self concept is higher than other's when a child's attitude toward school subjects and schoolmates is higher.
3. According to a parent's achievement pressure, there is no difference in the academic self concept by a child's learning attitude.
