      Social workers at the Dong-office are directly related with their clients and performing social welfare administration at the front. So they can obtain social welfare needs in their region easily and accurately.
      Therefore a study of job satisfaction on social workers working at the Dong-office is important not only to the welfare of social workers but also to that of clients because of the peculiar characteristics of social work to delermine the level of services provided to their clients.
      Thus, this study has its objectives in investigating the factors of influencing on social work's job satisfaction who are working at the Dong-office and analyzing main factors to influence on job satisfaction and then presenting useful date to help effective personnel management of social workers.
      To achieve the purpose of this study, documentary studies and experimental methods were selected. Regarding the documentary study, by studying definition and factors of job satisfaction throughout preceding studies, I tried to establish theoretical basis for survey.
      Regarding the experimental study on the job satisfaction, I tried to investigate the actual conditions of social work's job satisfaction by making the questionnaire of social workers who work at the Dong-office in Busan and grasp the main factors to affect job satisfaction.
      Date collection was done at March 8th 2001. In total number of 310 social workers who gathered in Busan City-Hall to receive job education were sampled. I made the questionnaire to measure job satisfaction on the basis of JDI. It consists of totally 40 questions, nine questions about personal-social characteristics and thirty-one questions about influencing factors of job satisfaction.
      The SPSS program was used for statistical methods such as frequencies, percentage, t-test, One-Way ANOVA.
      The result of study is summarized as follows.
      First, the degree of satisfaction for supervision was 3.5 which was the highest score among categories and work environment, work itself, guarantee of occupation, pay, promotion were the next factors.
      Second, the result of scattering analysis is as follows.
      ① By the sex difference, promotion caused men to present higher job satisfaction than women and the other elements such as pay, work environment, guarantee of occupation showed the opposite.
      ② In case of age the level of job satisfaction was highest in pay, work itself, supervision, work environment, guarantee of occupation. And the age of above 46 revealed higher job satisfaction than other level of ages.
      ③ The married presented the higher job satisfaction than the single in supervision.
      ④ According to the degree of education, pay, work itself, supervision, work environment, guarantee of occupation were the factors to affect job satisfaction and high school graduate showed higher job satisfaction than the university graduate.
      ⑤ Social workers who have certificate of the third class presented higher job satisfaction in pay, work itself , supervision, work environment, guarantee of occupation than those who have certificate of first and second class.
      ⑥ For the application motive of public servants, work itself, guarantee of occupation showed higher job satisfaction than any other factors.
      ⑦ The longer they worked, the more job satisfaction elevated in supervision, guarantee of occupation
      As a result, job satisfaction should be understood as the multi-dimensional concept to be mixed of personal instincts, work itself and so on.
      Based on this research, in order to increase the satisfaction at duty, the promotion must be guaranteed, an extra compensation should be formed and overwork by doing both their own works and other works together should be formed.
      And also we should develop the research methods which are fit in our conditions for the accurate measurement of job satisfaction.
