The purpose of this study was to investigate effects which gives influence on improvement of social maladjustive behavior of the pervasive development disorder by self regulation program. Pervasive development disorder means a kind of behavior by which a person has difficulty to have relation with other persons in his school. In this study, it was surveyed on social maladjustive behavior as distractive behavior, impulsive behavior and offensive behavior.
As for study method, target behavior was established by pre-observation after setting three boys, and three of observers surveyed their change of behavior by recording on observing card in 40 minutes' of class. I established multiple basic line design between children for simple object study. Self regulation was composed of 40 minutes per each term and five times per week total 20 terms. Self check was done for last five minutes of training. It is for effect of review and recollection.
The results of this study were as follows;
First, self regulation was effective on improvement of distractive behavior even though it has difference of degree according to specialty of the pervasive development disorder.
Second, self regulation was effective on improvement of impulsive behavior even though it has difference of degree according to specialty of the pervasive development disorder.
Finally, self regulation was effective on improvement of offensive behavior even though it has difference of degree according to specialty of the pervasive development disorder.
On the basis of the results of this study, I'd like to suggest as follows for later studies;
First, it was regarded that it could be used for therapeutic education activity, in other words, for psychological behavior adaptation training, even though it cannot be generalized by shortage of number of subject children, and following studies are in need.
Second, this study was approached with object of the pervasive development disorder, but following studies are in need which compares results expanding to the other disabled children.
Third, this study was performed mainly on several separated problem behavior related with social adaptation, but it requests relation with variety of behavior and region.
