The purpose of the study is to examine and analyze the difference of specialized-vocational-high-school students' career consciousness in proportion to self-awareness. The concrete problems to be investigated are 1) the difference of their self-awareness, 2) the difference of their career consciousness, 3) the difference of their career consciousness in proportion to self-awareness, according to students' grade, sex, and record. 480 students who are attending at the school in Jeju Province are sampled as the subject of study.
The major findings are as follows:
1) Generally, the students have poor understanding of themselves and fall short of self-awareness, and do not have clear view of career goal. Male students have higher awareness of their own interest, aptitude, and talent than female students.
2) The students have high interest in career after graduation; male students express higher interest in it than female students. They are willing to consult their career matter with family and friends.
3) The students do not have high distinction between the noble and the base of vocation. They think of main factors in determining their vocation as 'aptitude and ability' and 'the amount of salary'.
4) The students have higher career consciousness in proportion to higher perception of their own interest, aptitude, and ability; to more definite idea of their own career goal; to more satisfaction with the school.
