The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of integrated activities for forstering animals on the children's proenvironmental attitudes.
To achive this purpose, 137 children aged from 4 to 5 years were sampled in No Won-Gu, Seoul and they were assigned to the experimental group and control group. The integrated activities for forstering animals program were treated to experimental group for 11 weeks. In order to find out the effect of the treatment, pre-test and post-test were given to each of the children.
The collected data were coded and analyzed by SPSSWIN programes.
The t-test was used to analyze the effect of integrated activities for forstering animals on the children's proenvironmental attitudes. The one-way ANOVA was used to analyze the difference between sexes in the effect of integrated activities for forstering animals on the children's proenvironmental attitudes.
This study attempts to answer the following questions.
1. Do the integrated activities for forstering animals improve the the children's proenvironmental attitudes?
2. Will the effect of integrated activities for forstering animals make differencce between sexes in the improving the children's proenvironmental attitudes?
The main results obtained from this study are summarized as follows:
1. There was a significant difference in the total children's proenvironmental attitudes score between aged 4 years children of the two groups. This showed that integrated activities for forstering animals had an effect on improving the children's proenvironmental attitudes.
2. There was a significant difference in the total children's proenvironmental attitudes score between aged 5 years children of the two groups. This showed that integrated activities for forstering animals had an effect on improving the children's proenvironmental attitudes.
3. There was a significant difference in the children's nature-oriented attitudes score between aged 4 years children of the two groups. This showed that integrated activities for forstering animals had an effect on improving the children's nature-oriented attitudes.
4. There was a significant difference in the children's nature-oriented attitudes score between aged 5 years children of the two groups. This showed that integrated activities for forstering animals had an effect on improving the children's nature-oriented attitudes.
5. There was a significant difference in the children's environment conservation attitudes score between aged 4 years children of the two groups. This showed that integrated activities for forstering animals had an effect on improving the children's environment conservation attitudes.
6. There was a significant difference in the children's environment conservation attitudes score between aged 5 years children of the two groups. This showed that integrated activities for forstering animals had an effect on improving the children's environment conservation attitudes.
7. There was not any difference between sexes in the effect of integrated activities for forstering animals on improving the children's proenvironmental attitudes. This showed that integrated activities for forstering animals does not exert a influence upon the children's proenvironmental attitudes depending on sexes.
8. There was not any difference between sexes in the effect of integrated activities for forstering animals on improving the children's nature-oriented attitudes. This showed that integrated activities for forstering animals does not exert a influence upon the children's nature-oriented attitudes depending on sexes.
9. There was not any difference between sexes in the effect of integrated activities for forstering animals on improving children's environment conservation attitudes. This showed that integrated activities for forstering animals does not exert a influence upon the children's environment conservation attitudes depending on sexes.
