동아리 활동이 고등학생의 학교 생활 만족도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 = (A) study on the effects of club activities on high school students' satisfaction with their school life

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 인문계 고등학생의 동아리 활동이 학교생활 만족도에 미치는 영향을 살펴봄으로써 학교 교육의 정의적 측면을 활성화시킬 수 있는 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위해 경기도 일부 지역의 인문계 고등학교 1, 2학년 학생을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 그 결과를 SPSS 프로그램에 의해 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 동아리 활동 여부에 따른 학교생활 만족도를 살펴본 결과, 동아리 활동을 하는 학생이 그렇지 않은 학생보다 교우관계와 교사와의 관계, 학교행사, 학습활동, 전반적인 학교 생활, 그리고 학교 생활 만족도가 높은 것으로 나타났다.
둘째, 동아리 활동 수준에 따른 학교생활 만족도를 살펴본 결과, 동아리 활동시 자발성과 적극성, 문제 해결력, 동아리 활동에 대한 만족도, 동아리 활동 수준이 높은 학생이 그렇지 않은 학생보다 교우관계, 교사와의 관계, 규칙준수, 학교행사, 학습활동, 전반적인 학교 생활, 그리고 학교생활에 대한 만족도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 동아리 활동의 조직력 수준이 높다고 지각하는 학생이 그렇지 않은 학생보다 교우관계, 교사와의 관계, 규칙준수, 그리고 학교생활에 대한 만족도가 높은 것으로 나타났다.
셋째, 동아리 활동 기간에 따른 학교 생활 만족도를 살펴본 결과, 동아리 활동 기간에 따라 학교생활 만족도는 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다.
넷째, 동아리 활동 남·여학생의 학교 생활 만족도를 살펴본 결과, 동아리 활동을 하는 남학생이 동아리 활동을 하는 여학생보다 교사와의 관계, 학습활동, 전반적인 학교 생활, 그리고 학교생활에 대한 만족도가 높은 것으로 나타났다.
이상과 같이 동아리 활동 참여는 학생들의 학교생활에 긍정적인 영향을 미침을 알 수 있다. 따라서, 동아리 활동은 교과교육에 장애를 주는 것이 아니라 교과학습만으로 성취하기 힘든 교육의 목표를 보완하는 것이라는 올바른 인식을 가져야 한다. 또한 동아리 활동 프로그램의 계획·조직·운영에 있어서도 학생들의 적극적인 참여를 유도해야 하며, 동아리 활동 운영 활성화에 있어서 보다 근본적이고 적극적인 관심과 지원이 요구된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of the study is to examine the effects of academic high school students's club activities on satisfaction with their school life in order to propose a measures to activate justice aspects of school education. For this purpose, 1st and 2nd grade students in academic high school in Kyung-gi province were surveyed. The results analyzed with SPSS were as follows.
1. For satisfaction depending on whether or not doing club activity, students who did club activities had higher satisfaction with relationship with other students and teachers, school activity, learning, and overall school life than who did not.
2. For satisfaction with school life according to the participating level into the club activities, students who were high in spontaneity and positiveness during the activity, problem-solving ability, satisfaction with the activity, participating level in the activity had much more elevated satisfaction with the relationship with friends and teachers, rule observation, school program, learning, and overall school life than who did not.
3. For satisfaction with school life according to the duration of club activities, it didn't make differences.
4. For satisfaction with school life by sex, boy students who did club activities had higher satisfaction with relationship with teachers, learning, and overall school life than girl students who did club activities.
These results showed that participation in club activities give positive effects on students' school life. Accordingly, we should recognize that club activities make up for education goals which is difficult to be accomplished with learning only. In addition, we should encourage students to participate actively in planning, organizing, and operating of club programs. More fundamental and active interest and supports are required for the activation of club activities.
As reviewed above, club activities perform key roles in developing friendship among each other, expanding a sense of common bonds, consequently serving to school life, and preventing juvenile delinquency and guiding, through the interaction of physical and emotional contact out of competitive disposition widespread in juvenile culture. So, schools should strongly encourage students to do club activities and seek for measures to activate club activities.
