유치원의 컴퓨터 활용실태에 관한 연구 = Research on Current Usage of Computers at Pre-Schools

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 유치원 컴퓨터 보유현황과 컴퓨터활동 운영현황을 알아보고 컴퓨터 활동에 대한 교사의 인식을 분석해 봄으로써 향후 유치원에서의 합리적이고 효과적인 컴퓨터 활동 방안의 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다.
이에 따른 구체적인 연구문제는 다음과 같다.
1. 유치원 컴퓨터 하드웨어와 소프트웨어의 보유현황은 어떠한가?
1-1. 컴퓨터의 하드웨어 보유현황은 공·사립 유치원에 따라 차이가 있는가?
1-2. 소프트웨어의 보유현황은 공·사립 유치원에 따라 차이가 있는가?

본 연구의 대상은 서울시에 위치한 유치원에 재직중인 교사 222명이었다.
연구도구는 문헌 연구와 선행 연구에서 사용된 질문지를 근거로 본 연구자가 작성하였다. 작성된 질문지는 3군데 유치원 교사 9명을 대상으로 하여 예비 조사를 하여 질문지를 수정하였으며 전문가에 의한 안면 타당도 검증을 실시하였다.
자료의 분석은 1-9번, 11번, 18번, 21번, 23-24번 문항은 각 문항별로 반응빈도(N)와 백분율(%)을 산출하였으며, 그 결과의 차이를 알아보기 위해서 Chi-Square 검증을 하였다
10번, 20번 문항은 각 문항별로 평균(N)과 표준 편차(SD)를 산출한 후 t검증을 실시하였고, 19-20번 문항은 각 항목에 대한 가중치의 합을 구하여 우선순위를 구하였다.
본 연구 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 컴퓨터의 하드웨어와 소프트웨어는 공립유치원이 사립유치원 보다 더잘 보유하고 있었으며, 소프트웨어를 선정하는 것은 주로 교사가 선택해 구입하거나, 교사와 원장이 협의하여 구입하는 경우가 많았다. 선정 기준은 공인기관에서 추천된 것, 생활주제와 연관된 것 등이 우선적으로 고려되었으며 교사들은 소프트웨어를 선정할 때 사용해 보고 구입할 수 없는 것을 가장 큰 어려움이라 여겼다.
둘째, 컴퓨터 운영현황을 보면 컴퓨터 활동은 교실영역으로 자유선택활동시간 중에 이루어지고 있었고, 담임교사가 활동을 담당하며, 컴퓨터를 사용하는 유아와 관심 있는 유아가 같이 컴퓨터 활동을 하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 공립유치원이 사립유치원에 비해 컴퓨터활동의 통합적 운영이 더 잘 이루어지고있었다.
셋째, 교사의 컴퓨터 활용현황은 공립유치원 교사가 사립유치원 교사들에 비해 더 잘 활용하고 있었으며 직전교육에 따른 차이는 없었다. 공립유치원 교사가 사립유치원 교사들에 비해 컴퓨터 사용시간이 더 많았으며, 컴퓨터 활용능력이 더 많은 것으로 나타났다.
넷째, 교사의 인식과 요구는 공·사립간에 차이를 보였는데 컴퓨터 활동의 효율적인 운영 요인에 있어서 공립유치원 교사는 교사 자신의 자질에 대한 부분을 중요시 한 반면 사립유치원 교사들은 컴퓨터 설비를 갖추는 것을 중요하게 인식하고 있었다. 유치원과 행정당국에서 이루어지길 원하는 지원 내용에 있어서도 사립 유치원 교사들은 컴퓨터의 하드웨어와 소프트웨어의 지원을 공립 유치원 교사들은 연수를 위한 시간적 배려와 교육비 지원을 더 많이 요구했다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this research is to provide primary information for a more efficient and effective educational plan on computer activities at preschools. This research aims to discover current computer resources, detect management of computer activities, and analyze teachers' opinions on computer activities.
The following are specific questions on these matters.
1. What is the current situation with computer facilities such as software and hardware that pre-schools own and use.
2. How do pre-schools manage computer activities?
3. How do teachers apply computers as methodology?
4. What are teachers' opinions and demands on computer activities for pre-school students?
The subjects of this research are 222 teachers presently working at pre-schools in Seoul. The questionnaire is formulated by the researcher based on questions from published studies and previous related research.
The questionnaire also is pre-conducted by nine teachers from three different pre-schools and revised after.
For questions 1 to 9, 11, 18, 21, 23, and 24, Frequency(N) and Percentage(%) are produced for each question and chi-square is evaluated to check the difference of results between Frequency(N) and Percentage(%).
For questions 10 and 20, the t evaluation is conducted after the average Means(M) and Std. Deviation(SD) are produced.
For questions 19 and 20, the priority is determined by an addition of intensity from each list.
The summary of this research is the following.
1. The current situation of computers at pre-schools.
- When software or hardware is purchased, usually either teachers determine what items to buy or both teachers and managers agree on what is needed.
- The software recommended by an authorized institute or related to a daily subject matter is considered to be preferably purchased.
- The most concern teachers have in purchasing software is making a decision without a trial period.
2. The operation of computers at pre-schools.
- Computer use is operated in a computer activity area during free-play in class and directed by teachers.
- Children using computers share activities with others interested in computer activities.
- Public pre-schools manage integrated computer activities better than private pre-schools.
3. Computer usage by teachers.
- Although there is no difference in according to the pre-experience of use of computer, teachers working at public pre-schools tend to have better computer skills and usage than teachers at private pre-schools.
- The research also shows public pre-school teachers spend more time in operating computers and have a better ability to use them.
4. Teachers' opinions and demands.
- For effective management in computer activities, public pre-school teachers emphasize the teacher's ability. In contrast, private pre-school teachers emphasize better computer equipment.
- In receiving support from schools and government, public pre-school teachers demand more hours and funding for education teachers.
However, private pre-school teachers require more support for computer software and hardware.
