This study is designed for defining job satisfaction factors contributing for the satisfaction of workers working for social welfare facilities, and finding ways to improve the degrees of their satisfaction at work. The purpose of this study is also laid on finding out the relationship between job satisfaction of the workers and job satisfaction factors, and the influence resulting from the relationship. The research was conveyed by the questionaires for the total 299 subject people, now working for the social welfare facilities in Daegu area. The gathered information was sorted out through SPSS statistics program and at the same time, one-way ANOVA analysis, t-test, inter-relation analysis and multiple regression analysis were used to support the hypothesis.
The result from this study is as follows;
First, the job transferring rate is getting decreased considering the total working years of workers in the social welfare field and that of in the present working facilities show not so much difference between them, which is considered to be the effect of the sustaining economic crisis since the 1997.
Second, gender or facilities style difference gives little influence on the job satisfaction of the workers because the statistics doesn't show any meaningful results for this.
Third, the higher satisfaction was noticed in group of people, who are more aged, less educated, married, and who has worked for longer period in the present facilities.
Fourth, the highly affecting job satisfaction factors can be listed from the top like this; wages, chances to be promoted, supervisors' styles, and covering working field. The role conflicts or the incomplete role definition has a negative effect on workers' satisfaction considering the result from the survey, which shows the less role conflict and more complete role definition would result in the higher job satisfaction.
Based on these findings, we can think of some of the ways to improve satisfaction of workers in social welfare facilities.
First, the workers should be encouraged to develop themselves by attending some programs such as short overseas educational programs or seminars, which at the same time can be worked out as chances for the promotion and self-challenging time.
Second, given role conflicts should be disappeared with resonable standards for the requirements for those work positions.
Third, special educational programs based on close human relationship should be provided for supervisors to make the relationship friendly between them and their co-workers, and the programs should be somewhat different from those of normal companies.
Fourth, about the working environment and the welfare program for workers, there should be the official supports helping the workers to be satisfied.
On the whole we can see that many factors are needed to extract the satisfaction of employees working for social welfare facilities.
This research shows that working conditions and environments for the workers should be improved to make their satisfaction higher, and tells us the effective factors for improving workers' satisfaction. Given these things, this study also will be a guiding information for the further study about the workers' job satisfaction.
