친환경적 표현재료를 이용한 조형활동방안 연구 = (A) study on the methods of formative activities using environment friendly materials

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 아동들의 조형활동 영역에서 자연체험을 통한 친환경적 표현재료의 이용 방안을 연구과제로 설정하였다.
본 연구의 목적은 다음과 같다.
첫째, 자연 체험 활동을 통해 환경에 대한 이해와 애정으로 자연의 순수성을 회복하고 아울러 아동들의 지적 특성을 살린 정서 교육에 이바지함에 있다.
둘째, 자연에 대한 새로운 접근이 반영된 환경·자연·정크미술 등 환경관련 고찰을 토대로, 친환경적 표현재료의 발견과 그 특징을 살린 미술 중심 통합 프로그램을 창안하여 아동들이 자연 속에서 체험활동 함으로써 환경 인식과 조형 사고가 확장될 수 있는 교육 방안 개발 연구에 있다.
전자 기계 문명은 인간 생활에 많은 편리함과 물질적인 풍요를 가져다 준 반면에 삶의 터전인 자연 환경이 파괴되고 가치관의 혼란과 인간 소외 현상 등 위기적 상황을 초래하였다. 인공 환경 속에서 자라나는 아동들도 자연과 충분히 접하지 못하고 놀이와 학습을 컴퓨터를 통해 하고 있다.
예술활동은 그 시대의 문화와 사상, 환경 등이 총체적으로 반영된다. 최근의 자연환경의 위기 상황과 현대사회의 가치관의 혼란에 대한 반성으로 인간의 생명과 실존을 중시하는 철학적 의식의 전환이 이루어지는 시점에 있다. 그러므로 아동들의 미술활동도 인간의 생존과 관계된 환경 위기적 상황극복에 대한 관심을 반영하여 생태학적 접근이 이루어져야 할 것이다.
인간의 삶과 예술에 있어서 급격하게 고조되고 있는 환경요인으로부터 파생된 미술의 형태들이 환경미술이라 할 수 있다.
예술가들은 자연을 통한 거대한 작업에서부터 환경친화적인 작업에 이르기까지 나름대로 자연에 대한 새로운 접근이 반영된 환경·자연미술과 쓰레기나 폐품으로 작업한 정크미술의 환경관련측면 고찰을 토대로 친환경적 표현재료를 발견하였다. 독특한 시각과 방법론을 통해 이면에 내재된 순환현상을 존중하는 이들의 정신성을 아동들의 조형활동에 적용하였다.
본 연구에서 조형활동 재료는 자연물 재료, 자연에서 얻어진 채색염료재료, 현장에서 쉽게 구할 수 있는 폐품재료를 사용하여 자연현장 체험학습을 통한 조형 표현 가능성 탐색활동 - 자연과 하나되기 조형표현, 관찰에 의한 조형표현, 조형형식을 통한 조형표현 - 을 체험하도록 하였다. 그리고 이 세 가지 접근 방법 체험을 중심으로 친환경적 재료를 이용한 조형활동방안을 제시하고 실행하였다.
첫째, 친환경재료 자연물을 이용한 조형활동 방안을 토대로 자연의 입장에서 표현하고 자연 생태계를 바르게 인식하는 계기가 될 수 있는 방안 <돌로 그린 그림>, <쌓기로 즐기는 조형놀이>, <선조형 거미줄> 등을 고안 제시하였다.
둘째, 자연에서 얻은 채색염료 재료를 이용한 관찰에 의한 조형활동방안은 아동들이 자연환경에 애정을 가지게 되며 관찰능력과 조형능력의 향상을 가져 올 수 있는 방안 <자연색은 아름다워>, <자연색으로 한 드로잉>, <나뭇잎 잡초프로타주> 등을 고안 제시하였다.
셋째, 폐품재료를 이용한 조형활동방안은 조형미를 동시에 체험할 수 있는 자연에서 외형적인 미, 내면의 미, 기후나 바람 등의 자연 현상 까지도 표현재료로 사용하는 방안 <폐지로 만든 나무조형>, <폐품 곤충 만들기>, <바람과 같이 만든 설치> 등을 고안 제시하였다.
위와 같은 방안을 아동들에게 적용한 바 자연과 함께 하는 미술에 흥미를 가져 창의적인 사고를 형성하는데 도움이 되었다. 그리고 기계문명 속에서 생활 하는 아동들에게 자연 속에서 친환경적 표현재료를 이용한 조형활동을 통하여 자연의 소중함과 자연과 더불어 사는 자세를 기를 수 있었고 조형의식과 재료 인식의 폭을 넓힐 수 있었다. 또한 자연과의 친밀감과 애정을 가지고 다가가 자연을 사랑하는 아동들은 아름다운 마음과 눈을 지닌 인간으로 성장할 수 있도록 한 전인적 미술교육으로 교육효과가 증폭될 수 있도록 하는데 중점을 두었다.
본 연구를 통해 순수한 자연을 체험하고 그 감응을 표현할 수 있는 환경과 현장체험학습에 적용 가능한 친환경적 재료와 학습방안 자료의 개발에 도움이 되었으면 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study deals with the development of methods of formative activities for children using environment friendly materials, and their experiences in nature.
The followings are the objectives of this study.
First, this study aims for children's harmonious development of mind and intellect, children who, through the experiences of nature, have curiosity and understanding and love to nature.
Second, this study aims for the development or educational methods. I think that through the discovery of new, environment friendly materials and the unified educational programs using the characteristics of them and centering around art, children can be educated to recognize the importance of environment, and their formative thinking can be developed through the experiences in nature on the basis of the examination on the newly devised concepts of environment, nature and junk art.
While contemporary electronic-machinery civilization gives US much conveniences and materialistic affluences, it creates some kinds of serious problems: destruction of nature; confusion of human values; and alienation of human beings one another. Children who grow up in the artificial environments use computers as the implements of education and play without coming in contact with nature.
Artistic activities of an age reflect the whole situation of culture, ideas, and environment of it. And now it is the time of conversion of philosophical ideas respecting human lives and existences as a reflection on the crises of nature and the extreme confusions of humanistic values. So with respect to the recoveries of critical environmental crises and human existences in it, the artistic activities of children should be approached from the point of view of ecology.
Environment art is a kind of art resulted from the environment-crisis which has been culminated rapidly in lives and artistic activities of humanities. It is performed in the natural environment, and through art, it interprets nature as a living and changing endlessly.
From the enormous artistic works to the environment friendly ones, artists have discovered environment friendly materials on the basis of the reflection of the environment-related aspect of junk art which uses wasted and recycling materials. And through the unique perspective and methodology they have applied this idea of the internalized phenomenon of circularity of nature to the formative activities of children.
The materials used in the formative activities are natural materials. The coloring and dyeing materials can be gotten from nature. And the waste articles can be easily gettable on the spot, so I can let the children have the experiences of learning, that is, the possibilities of searching; the formative expression for becoming one with nature; the formative expression through observation; the formative expression through the plastic forms. And through these methods of expression, and by using the environment friendly materials, I have presented the ways of plastic activities and have executed them.
First, using the environment friendly materials, I have created and presented the ways for children to understand the ecology of nature and to express it, in the works, <Painting Drawn with Stones>, <Formative Play of Stacking>, <Line-Formative Spider Web>.
Second, I have created and presented the ways, through which children can develop a sense of familiarity with nature, and the observatory and formative capabilities, in the works of <Natural Color Is Beautiful>, <A Drawing Drawn With Natural Color>, <Protage With Leaves And Weeds> Third, as a method of plastic activities using wasted materials, I've presented <Trees Made Of Wasted Paper>, <Making Bugs with Wastes>, <Installation With The Winds>, These were intended to show the beauty of plastic forms in nature, and the exterior and interior beauties of objects, and even the possibility of using the climatic elements, like winds, as formative materials.
Applying these methods to children who are under age 7, I've found that they were interested in the artistic activities in nature and these interests helped them develop creativity, Children who live in the mechanical civilization should come to understand the preciousness of nature and the value of living together with nature, by using environment friendly materials. I think that their senses of formality and artistic materials should be extended. I came to believe that children who are familiar with nature and who love nature, can be grown up through the education of art. Therefore I lay emphasis on the amplification of the holistic art education for children. Through this education children can love nature, then they will grow our with beautiful mind and eyes.
I think, it is necessary for US, the art educator, to create environments and educational methods and materials, with environment friendly ones for children. And these methods and materials should be applied to them to express their senses and sensibilities of pure nature.
