This study is aimed to verify what are the major factors affecting teenager athletics' deviant behaviors, being trained systematically and continuously at schools, and to present the basic material to prevent those behaviors and guide after the fact ,and foster young athletics at schools.
The object of the study is 436 high school athletics (Male: 260, Female: 176) from the 17 high schools that are supporting the active events needed for the study. And, with the hypothesis that levels of deviant behaviors vary depending on gender, parents' professions, parents' educational level, amount of allowance, athletics' career, award achievement, and sport events, the levels of deviation were compared with one another. Also, with the consideration on the qualitative aspects of deviants behaviors, the behaviors were divided into the deviations from public order, property, status, interpersonal relations, and, finally, seclusion deviation, and analyzed and compared with one another.
To collect required data questionnaire were made out referring to the precedent researches, and verified for its reliability. The results of the questionnaire were collected and recorded according to Self-Administration Method. and the statistical me methods for data analysis were frequency analysis and One Way ANOVA.
Through the study method and procedure, the hypothesis for the study on the deviant behaviors of high school athletics were verified. The conclusions are as follows.
1. The level of deviant behaviors depending on gender showed significant differences in every type of deviation from public order, property, status, interpersonal relations, and seclusion deviation. Male athletics were on higher level than female in all 5 types of deviation.
2. The level depending on parents' professions showed significant differences only in the type of deviation from status. The level was high on the professions of professional work, administrative work, blue color, sales, clerical work in sequence.
3. The level depending on parents' educational level showed significant differences in the types of deviation from public order, property, status, interpersonal relations. On the deviation from public order the level was high on over post-graduate, high school graduate, and middle school graduate in sequence. On property, over postgraduate, middle school graduate, and primary school graduate; cn status, over postgraduate, universities graduate, and high school graduate; and on interpersonal relations, over postgraduate, universities graduate, and middle school graduate, all in sequence.
4. The level depending on amount of allowance showed significant differences in all 5 types of deviation. On the deviation from public order, the level was high on the amount of over \160,000 and \120,000 ∼ \160,000 in sequence. On property, over \160,000 and \80,000∼=120,000; on status, over \160,000 and \120,000∼\160,000; on interpersonal relations, \160,000 and \80,000∼\120,000; on seclusion deviation, \160,000 and \80,000∼\120,000, all in sequence. Overall, the more the amount of allowance, the higher the level of deviation.
5. The level depending on athletics' career showed significant differences in all 5 types of deviation. On the deviation from public order, property, and status, the longer the career, the higher the level of deviation. On interpersonal relations and seclusion deviation, the level was high on over 7 years, 3 ∼ 4 years, 5∼6 years, and 1 ∼ 2 years in sequence.
6. The level depending on award achievement showed significant differences in all 5 types of deviation. On public order, status, interpersonal relations, and seclusion, the level was high on no award, awards on national competition, and awards on provincial competition in sequence. On property, no award, awards on provincial competition, and awards on national competition in sequence. In result, athletics with no award displayed the highest level of deviation.
7. The level depending on sport events showed significant differences in all 5 types of deviation. On public order, the level was high on Swimming, Field events, Taekwondo, Football, and Volleyball in sequence; on property, Swimming, Field events, Volleyball, Basketball, and Shooting; on status, Swimming, Basketball, Football, Field events, and Volleyball; on interpersonal relations, Swimming, Football, Basketball, Field events, and Shooting; on seclusion, Swimming, Football, Field events, Volleyball and Basketball in sequence.
