다양한 언어 탐구 활동을 통한 어휘 학습 프로그램 개발 연구

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

1. The purpose of this research
First, this research is for the development and transmission of the more effective way of teaching vocabularies introducing new learning method through a study with various language inquiry activities.
Second, I tried to contribute to the creative activities that inflect and transform vocabularies and the formulation of educational policy for Korean which intends to arrange and supply diverse vocabularies even a little.
2. The method of inquiry
First, this is a vocabulary study program based on archetypal theory. There were some of the problems that former researches were a few and the adequacy and objectivity of importing cognitive semantics could not be proved easily because the theory was unfamiliar one.
Second, this is a vocabulary study program by separating words. It aims at categorizing vocabularies in various ways and performing effective instruction.
Third, this is a vocabulary study program by sentential application. It intends to extend a vocabulary by writing an essay together with analogizing context and finding errors under a prerequisite that a word has a meaning in the context.
3. The range and term of the research
Focusing on the Korean textbook of 6th curriculum, I have planned a program appropriate for the third grade middle school students in the crossed area of a city and the suburbs and applied it to them considering their level of language use and the learning materials. The object of this research is a middle school located in Namyangju city Kyungki province, the educational condition of which is much inferior to Seoul or adjoined Guri city and because the desire and interest to study and academic level were much lower, the supplements to compensate for the lack of vocabulary was desperately needed adding to the schoolwork with a textbook.
The term of research was for two years from May 1999 to May 2001 regarding the progress of classwork.
4. The result
Through the experiences with diverse language inquiry activities that helped the students think variously, they could adapt themselves to the new society of 21th century more flexibly. More effective and creative programs like this have to be developed constantly for the education of Korean. I could reconsider the necessity of training adaptability to rapid change of society and the capability to solve the problems caused by the change.
