Various methods have used to change of nondisabled students toward disabled students which is one of critical elements for effective inclusion. But several problems can be found when these various methods are applied into real classroom. The problem facing the regular classroom isi that the teacher has difficulties teaching and controlling behavior disorders among students with disabilities. The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of peer tutoring of students with disability with regular students. So, this study is about the effects of peer tutoring of disability students with regular students on behavior disorders and social studies achievements.
In this study, 21 students of disability from Kyonggi-DO K Middle School were examined. From this study 10 students of disability received tutoring from 10 regular students. Moreover, 10 students of disability, serving as the control group received no peer tutoring. Before beginning the behavior disorder experiment, I observed the behavior of students of disability in the classroom. Without giving any special instructions, I observed the action of the students twice using a video camera. This time, I observed twice more the behavior of the students using peer tutoring. In social studies achievements, the students were given a test before being tutored. After having 10 classes with a peer tutor, the same test was given. ANOCOVA analysis of variance were used to analyze differences in attitudes between two group.
Results of this study is summarized as follows:
1. Significant differences were found between experimental group and control group in behavior disorders. Peer tutors lowered the behavior disorders of the students.
2. Significant differences were found between experimental group and control group in social studies achievement. Peer tutors raised the social studies achievement of the students.
In the future research, there is a need to compare and examine the results using different peer tutors in order to solidify these types of experiment.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

일반학급에서 수업의 일부분을 받는 장애학생이 늘어나면서 물리적인 통합의 차원을 넘어서 교수적 통합을 지지하는 연구의 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 장애학생은 특수학급에서도, 일반학급에서도 그들의 특별한 교수적 요구를 충족시킬 수 있는 적절한 서비스를 받을 수 있어야 한다.
하지만 일반교사의 장애학생에 대한 이해가 잘 이루어지지 않는 현장에서 장애학생은 일반교실 수업에 참여하기 어려우며 아무런 교수적 중재가 이루어지지 않고 있는 경우도 많다. 특히 일반교실의 통합교육에서 일반교사들이 가장 어려워하는 것은 장애학생의 문제행동이며 수업에 참여가 이루어지지 않는 상태에서 장애학생의 학업성취도는 고려되지 않고 있다. 또한 지금까지 이루어지 많은 또래교수와 관련된 선행연구가 특수학급 환경 및 초등학교에 초점이 맞추어져 있고 일반학급에서 교수적 중재를 통한 직접적인 문제행동 감소나 학업성취도의 증가와 관련한 연구는 이루어지지 않았으며 중학교로 진학한 장애학생을 위한 통합을 지원하는 교수법에 관한 연구는 미흡한 현실이다. 이에 본 연구는 장애학생이 일반또래 친구의 또래교수를 받으면서 일반교실의 사회 수업에 참여할 때 또래교수가 장애학생의 문제행동 및 사회과 학업성취도에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 하였다.
본 연구에서는 경기도 K 중학교 특수학급에 재학중인 20명의 장애학생이 실험대상학생으로 선정되었다. 1,2,3학년 각 학년의 일반학급 사회과 수업에서 또래교수가 이루어졌으며 10명의 실험집단과 10명의 통제집단이 구성되었다. 또래교사는 같은 반 학생 중에서 또래교사 선정기준에 따라 10명이 선정되었으며 실험이 시작되기 전에 충분히 독립적으로 또래교수를 실시할 수 있을 때까지 또래교사훈련을 받았다. 또래교수의 효과는 문제행동과 사회과 학업성취도를 통해 검증되었다. 문제행동은 실험이 시작되기 전 또래교수 중재가 없는 상태에서 실험집단과 통제집단 모두 2회씩 비디오 관찰을 통해 측정되었고, 실험의 효과를 입증하기 위해 또래교수가 9,10회 진행중일 때 2회 관찰되었다. 사회과 학업성취도는 또래교수 중재 전에 사전검사 도구로써 측정하고 또래교수 10회기가 모두 끝난 뒤에 다시 사전검사와 동일한 검사도구로 학업성취도 사후검사를 측정하였다. 검사 결과 처리는 사전 검사점수를 공변인으로 하는 공분산 분석을 실시하였다.
본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다.
1. 중학교 일반학급에서 또래교수를 실시한 결과 실험집단과 통제집단간에 문제행동에 있어 유의미한 차가 나타났다. 즉, 또래교수를 실시한 실험집단은 통제집단에서 보다 문제행동이 유의미하게 감소되었다.
2. 중학교 일반학급에서 또래교수를 실시한 결과 실험집단과 통제집단간에 사회과 학업성취도에 있어 유의미한 차가 나타났다. 즉, 또래교수를 실시한 실험집단은 통제집단에서 보다 학업성취도가 유의미하게 증가되었다.
본 연구의 결과를 통해서 일반학급에서의 또래교수는 장애학생의 문제행동을 감소시키고 사회과 학업성취도를 향상시키는데 있어서 효과적임을 알 수 있었다. 앞으로의 연구에서는 다양한 방법의 또래교수의 효과성을 비교해보고 다른 과목에서의 또래교수의 성과를 알아내어 보는 것이 필요할 것이다.
