The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between the environmental Quality of a kindergarten and child care center and the aggressive behavior of young children and verify the difference of aggressive behavior by sex.
The research problems of this study were as follows;
1. Do any difference the aggressive behavior between the kindergarten, child care center?
2. Do any difference the aggressive behavior as to the Quality of kindergarten, child care center?
3. Do any difference the aggressive behavior between sex?
4. Does aggressive behavior of young children interact with sex and the type of early childhood care and education?
5. Does aggressive behavior of young children interact with each other between sex and environmental Quality and the type of early childhood care and education?
In order to investigate of this study, 8 kindergarten and 8 child care center were selected. All was divided into four groups by type and by Quality.
The environmental quality of each class was observed once a week during the free activity hours once the observation was finished, the results were recorded in compliance with the recording method ECOI by Holloway & Recichart - Erikson.
In order to measure the aggressive behavior, evaluation paper for teacher was distributed.
The observation data was analyzed using Mean, t-test, 2 way ANOVA.
The conclusion of this study is as follows;
1. In the aggressive behavior, there is statistically significant difference between kindergarten and child care center.
An aggressive behavior of young children in child care center is high as to the kindergarten.
2. In aggressive behavior, there is significant difference in between the environmental quality of the kindergarten and child care center.
3. There is a significant difference between gender.
The boys are more aggressive. They are physically aggressive, especially to persons and objects.
4. There is no significant difference in interaction according to the type of early childhood care and education and sex.
5. There is significant interaction between type and quality of early childhood care and education.
