대통령기록물의 관리와 제도 확립 = Establishing a system for managing presidential records

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

´Law managing records of public organization´ was enacted in January, 1999 in order to abolish the practice of destroying former presidents´ records or removal of those records as private documents with changes of the government. The current law generally control the management and preservation of records, but the rules about presidential records and its systematic devices is too basic. Therefore, it needs detailed regulations to be added. So this study first reviews the concepts and kinds of national records and presidential records and then examines the U.S. Presidential Library system, which exclusively manages and preserves presidential records, along with its operation and related regulations. It also suggests a framework to help enact detailed regulations related to Korean presidential records. Its ultimate goal is to contribute to the systematic management of presidential records and establishment of such a system.
