부모와의 갈등적 독립 및 가족응집력과 대학생활적응과의 관계 = (The) Relation of Psychological Separation from Parents, Family Cohesion and Adjustment to college

국문 초록 (Abstract)

대학생활적응에 영향을 주는 요인으로 가족간의 역동적 관계를 중심으로 연구를 하였다. 본 연구에서는 부모와의 갈등적 독립과 가족응집력이 대학생활적응에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다.
본 연구의 대상은 서울에 소재한 연세대학교 대학생 364명이었다.
대학생활적응을 측정하기 위해 학업적응, 사회적응, 개인-정서적응, 대학환경 적응의 하위척도로 이루어진 대학생활적응 척도를 사용하였다. 부모와의 갈등적 독립척도는 심리적 독립 척도 중 하위척도인 갈등적 독립 척도를 사용하였다. 또 가족 응집력은 가족응집력 척도를 사용하여 측정하였다.
연구결과, 부모와의 갈등적 독립은 대학생활적응과 하위척도 모두에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 가족응집력은 학업적 적응과 대학환경적응에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 부모와의 갈등적 독립이 가족응집력에 비해서 대학생활적응에 대해 상대적으로 설명력이 높았다.
본 연구 결과는 부모와의 갈등적 독립이 대학생활적응에 매우 중요한 요인임을 보여주는 것이다. 부모와 갈등적으로 독립이 잘 되어있을수록 대학생활에 보다 잘 적응한다는 것을 알 수 있다. 가족응집력 또한 대학생활적응에 중요한 변인이지만, 부모와의 갈등적 독립과 매우 밀접한 상관이 있으므로 상대적 중요도는 떨어졌다. 그러므로 부모와의 갈등을 해결하는 것이 대학생활적응에 중요한 열쇠가 된다고 할 수 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of the present study was examine the the relation of psychological separation from parents, family cohesion and adjustment to college.
The subjects of this study consisted of a sample of 364 university students. The psychological adjustment was measured by Baker & Siryk's(1984) Student Adaptation To College Questionnaire. J. A. Hoffman's(1984) Psychological Separation Inventory was used to obtain a measure of psychological separation from parents. Family cohesion was measured by Family Adaptability and Cohesion Scales.
The result showed that psychological separation from parents, family cohesion was positively related adjustment to college and subscles, including academic, social, personal-emotional, and institutional attachment adjustment.
In other to see the impact of psychological separation from parents and family cohesion on adjustment to college, multiple regression analyses were applied.
These findings indicate that psychological separation from parents is imperative to adjustment to college and subscles, including academic, social, personal-emotional, and institutional attachment adjustment. Family cohesion affects academic and institutional attachment adjustment. Also, as a result of multiple regression analyses, psychological separation from parents had more important effects on adjustment to college than family cohesion.
