The purpose of this study is to analyze what influence a top manager's leadership has on a social worker's duty-satisfaction in a social welfare organization, and then to offer a top manager in an organization the insights and the suggestions on a leadership level to manage it successfully.
To achieve the above purpose, we have set up questions as the followings:
The first is to examine the population-sociological features of a top manager and the features of an organization that influence a top manager's leadership.
The second is to examine the population-sociological features of a social worker and the features of an organization that influence a social worker's job-satisfaction.
The last is to examine what influence a top manager's leadership has on a social worker's duty-satisfaction.
We made the most of a structured questionnaire to collect information and gathered information from 141 social workers in Chungcheongbuk-do by means of mail or an interview with each social worker.
We collected the statistics of the gathered materials by SPSSWIN version 7.5, and used mainly the frequency, the one-way ANOVA and the correlation analysis.
The following is the conclusions of the analysis to which was applied purpose, questions and methods of this study:
A top manager's leadership was given 3.62 marks for the behaviour of initiating structure type and 3.45 marks for the behaviour of consideration type. Thus, the behaviour of initiating structure type was marked higher than the behaviour of consideration type. There were one's position, the years of service at the present organization and all careers at the field of social welfare as the population-sociological features of a top manager that have influence on a top manager's leadership. As the features of an organization, there were the number of social workers, the number of employees and the number of users a day, which are all related with the scale of a organization, and they had relation to a top manager's leadership. But the degree of job-satisfaction of a social worker was marked 3.6866, a bit high points, on the basis of 5 points but there was nothing special as the population-sociological features of a social worker and the features of an organization that have influence on a social worker's job-satisfaction. And the behaviour of initiating structure or consideration types had the positive correlation with the social worker's job-satisfaction. It was revealed that the behaviour of initiating structure type has much more correlation with job-satisfaction of a social worker than the behaviour of consideration type does. And also it was revealed that the degree of job-satisfaction of a social worker becomes higher in case of A(the type of efficient leadership) than in case of D(the type of inefficient leadership) among types of leadership behaviour.
